I obviously wished for this outcome, but didn't expect it. Colonels, we were due for a win. It's been awhile. You do know that except for tonight, we root for you. Let's hope we both bring home a

Great game by Beechwood tonight. I've gotta imagine Pabst averaged over 7 yards per touch. Fryman's catch to set up Beechwood's final touchdown was an all-time highlight reel catch for the Tigers. Beechwood's touchdown drive to start the game put the Colonels standing straight up, and then when Cov Cath's offense responded with a three-and-out with their first series, Beechwood pushed the Colonels back onto their heels and kept them there for the rest of the game. There were some key dropped passes by Cov Cath receivers that just cannot happen in a big game, especially when you're facing a team that has the playmakers Beechwood has.

It was distinct tonight hearing how loud Beechwood's stands were for all 48 minutes and how quiet Covington Catholic's stands were.

Really disappointed seeing Mac Cogswell and Spencer Clukey both come away from this one with injuries. That's almost 400 yards of passing offense in the first 4 games that we could really do to have on the field with Highlands two weeks away. I definitely hope they get healthy.

This is a solid win for Beechwood. I don't think they will be tested again and win the 2A title convincingly. CovCath is a really good team and always hard to beat.

It will take a SPECIAL team to stop this Beechwood offense. I don't see anyone in 2A able to do that.

Shout out to the offensive and defensive line at Beechwood. It all starts up front and they did a heck of a job keeping Queen protected as well as holes they opened up for the run game.

Beechwood defense overall, they played solid throughout the game. Four to Five BIG plays that turned into Cov Cath TD's that Beechwood backers and secondary will have to get better on in order to be dominant.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Pabst is Julian Edelman 2.0. EVERYTHING is similar from the lean to change direction, to the freakish small space mobility, to hitting way bigger than he is.

What do Pabst's college prospects look like?

Just extracted interesting stat from NKy Tribune. CovCath's 5 TDs covered 212 yards. Beechwood's 6TDs covered a total of 25 yards.

Two big plays for CCH. A 66 yard TD pass and a 80 yard TD run. There's 146 of the 212 yards right there.

The top challenger is Owensboro Catholic. They won't be able to stop the Beechwood offense but they may be able to outscore it. Their offense is right there with the Tigers. The Tigers will need to fix the holes in their defense that Cov Cath exposed last night.

I.M.O. Beechwood could have thrown longer passes to Fryman and Arrasmith time after time for long plays, BUT it was important they controlled the clock and the OC and offense played that out very well with short runs and passes time after time. Beechwood could have picked what they wanted todo and they chose right!

Chris Granger with a ton of great photos from the game last night.

I also noticed once again that the NKY refs are definitely not enforcing the knee pad rule.

Coaches are asked before the game "is your team legally and properly equipped?” if they say yes, then it's on the coach.

That is hilarious. No integrity anywhere to be found...
