They have several D1 athletes on there roster this year and just recently added JuJu Harmon from Scott County. Do they have a shot at winning a State Championship?

September 4th and 25th and October 23rd will see where they stand.

I will be the first to say yes. There are plenty of horses in the stable in Eminence.

According to a family member post on Facebook they have also added in addition to Ju Ju Harmon, Jay Harmon, and Destin Harmon. According to the post said they received the green light today from the KHSAA.

I’m going to say no.

Last they were 4-7. The four teams they beat had a total of 5 wins. They lost to Powell County who only had 3 wins. They lost to Caverna who only had 2 wins. They lost 26-0 in round 1 of the playoffs to a team that lost 49-22 in round 2 to state runner up Raceland. That is a HUGE amount of ground to make up.

In Class 1A, a team can make big gains. They could get to round 3 in the playoffs. Then it comes down to matchups as to possibly winning in round 3, but doubtful they win a round 3 game. I don't see a team going from that 2025 resume to a state title. Give 1A some credit. I don't think it is that easy - add some D1 players and win a title.

Transfers Between High Schools Policy

BGP is not a clearinghouse or platform for speculation, rumors, or discussion of potential or anticipated student-athlete transfers.

The use of the terms “transfer portal” or “portal” to describe high school student-athletes is prohibited in all high school forums.

Only confirmed transfers may be discussed, and discussion must be strictly limited to factual reporting of the move (i.e., the student-athlete has transferred from School A to School B).

Permitted content is limited to basic factual information such as the athlete’s name, sport/position, and the schools involved.

The following are strictly prohibited:

• Any speculation, inference, or commentary regarding the reasons for a transfer.
• Any discussion, suggestion, or implication of recruiting, inducement, eligibility issues, or rule violations in connection with a transfer.
• Generalized commentary about schools, coaches, programs, or communities engaging in recruiting behavior based on transfer activity.
• Attempts to indirectly question or interpret motives behind a transfer.

No discussion of transfers is permitted unless the transfer has already been officially completed and publicly confirmed. Even in those cases, discussion must remain strictly factual and non-interpretive.

This forum is not the venue for reporting or debating KHSAA violations. If you believe a violation has occurred, report it directly to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA).

No false, unverified, or misleading information may be posted.

Word on the street is DaMarcus Smith is on staff. We’d have to do a deep dive through the archives, but DaMarcus was “hired” by Brandon Bender in 2021 to lead the Evangel program that eventually disbanded two weeks before the season was scheduled to kick off. Will be interesting to see what happens with Eminence and how they compete with Sayre.
