I don't see where I was overly negative? In fact, it would seem there are quite a few rational UK posters that agree with what we've said about the game. But if that's how you want to spin it...

Some oddities from the stats: UK outshoots UT 56% to 49%, 3pt% was 42% to 38%, FT% was 79% to 64% and rebounds were 37 to 25.

 

Turnovers UK 19, UT 8. Take care of the ball and this is a win.

You're normally dead on....he maybe their star....but he is simply their lifeblood, not a one trick pony...next year's UT team, will likely be their best in my lifetime.

Good old LABS cant see the trees for the forest.

UT flat out has a better coach in-game than the Cats do. They actually run offensive sets and have OB plays.

I love how the Cats battled but one set, a hi-ball screen, is weak for a college basketball team.

UT back cut the heck out of us and ran Lofton off doubles repeatedly.

What is our scheme LABS?

One trick pony is UT. Lofton is their lifeblood.

I still trying to figure out their schemes. I was baffled by a few things Tubby threw out there tonight.

One, Perry Stevenson has to get 15 mpg. There is no excuse for Mark Coury being out there. Woo has brought nothing when he has been in there recently. He has feet for hands, and Florida made their run when he was in the other night and he was on the floor tonight when UT made their first half run.

Two, Bradley on fire 14 quick points in the second half, gets a tough break on foul number four about the 10 minute mark. He sits until 2 minutes. He is at the table whlie UK has the ball with 2:40 to go, down two. WHo knows what set they were trying to run? Zipper? Thumbs Down? Who knows. It was obvious, it was breaking down, call a TO, you have 2 left, get Bradley in the game, he maybe a turnover machine but he gives you another option on the floor that can score. Turnover.

Bottom line this junior class basketball IQ is next to nil. rondo didnt have it last year and this group doesnt have it.

They lack leadership. They also lack a point guard who can distribute and score from the perimeter.

What has become an issue to me, is the fact that Randolph Morris is continually allowed to give less than maximum effort time after time. That is on OTS.

People can scream and holler about Lofton, but Crawford took him to the woodshed in the second half.

UK's post defense was abysmal. Continually allowing UT to throw the ball overtop with no weakside help was frnakly annoying.

Frustrating.

UT got 27 points of UK turnovers.

6 out of the last 7 opponents UK has faced has shot the ball over 47%.

 

I still will pencil in UT for an opening round loss, this year.

I disagree, 26% of the posts is significant. I don't disagree that more true blue UK fans like SP will turn up after a loss, but at least tonight the non-UK fanbase has pushed the #'s up pretty good.

Twist it how you want...UK fans go nuts after a loss...There was almost 3 pages BEFORE I ever posted, and that was only 20 or 30 minutes after the game...

Let's talk about the game tonight! Kentucky actually shot better from the field than Tenn, and this was in Thompson Bowling arena. The 18 turnovers were detrimental tonight, and our lack of perimeter defense ended the chance of us competing in this game. Morris didn't show up tonight, and truely was outplayed by a freshman, wow chism really played well tonight. As for Chris, well he had a quite 23 points, and probably 6 assists, which the assist tonight really gave kentucky fits, Ask yourself this question why are we trying to trap lofton 24 feet out on the court, and we can't even get a trap made? Right now, I am really struggling to understand why our chemistry is the way it is, we have to start playing with more emotion, and execution has to become a priority!

Look at my post total. I post often about everything. Me being in this thread as often as I have should be no shock. I'm iced in. I finished all my work for the next two days this afternoon. I watched the game. I watch every game. Not sure why you have wasted so many posts doing the same thing you seem to be picking at me for. We had a lot of talk after Florida about the BGP reaction to a loss. Looking back it still reads a lot like the old days. We came in and made light of the complaining crowd. And for the most part they stayed away. One day you guys will realize we're here to help... :fire:

Perimeter defense was absolutely terrible, our rotation were terrible and the weak side guard didn't drop, and we were hestitating when the ball was entered into the paint. We didn't do a good job with pressure on the ball, our traps on the ball were terrible, and we can't take care of the ball
