No more Deming Devils

We need Devilman to comment on this,as this is inthe very early stages,if anything happens at all. He will tell us what is true and what isn't.

I've lived in Mt. Olivet my entire life and have family and friends that go to Deming and work there. They've also told the freshmen that they probably wouldn't graduate from Deming High School. It doesn't come much straighter than that. They also are going to build the school on the current site and have a large amount of funding for it already. Do you want to know anything else? K-12 will be in the same building as it is now but in different sections of the building.

I don't know who Devilman is but if he knew too much about whats going on in MT. O. He would've known that Scotty Graves was the best player to ever play for the black devils from a previous thread.

I personally think that should keep the name Deming Elementary in order to keep with tradition. Maybe just change from Black Devils to Red Devils.

Back in the mid-1980's Deming was in an invitational tournament at Oneida Baptist and our school played them. On the front of their jersies was 'ROBERTSON COUNTY'....not Deming. That might have been the only year that they did that, but that's what it was then. I remember asking someone that I thought the school was known as Deming and wondered why Robertson County was on their jersies.

As far as the new school's name is concerned, imo it should be called Robertson County High, because it is the only high school in the county. Keep the mascot name the same as it is, and call the elementary school Deming.

I don't remember that one and my sister graduated from there and cheered for the black devils in mid 80's.

:thumb: My thoughts exactly! It will interesting as to how all this plays out. I belive there is already some arguement brewing!

Don't be so sure on that. From what I've been told they are currently looking at a couple of pieces of property around the the "Greater Mt. Olivet Metro Area".

Mt. Olivet is built on seven hills (I think); maybe the Hilltoppers would work.

If they are the Hilltoppers I will have to change my name.

They were, but decided it would be cheaper to use the current site.

I guess nobody liked the fuzzy pandas(still my top choice:D ) but I like the hilltoppers. Red raiders has a ring to it but I like the whole idea about the hilltoppers.

If the school isn't built for awhile they should change the name to the "Deming Dust Bunnies" being the school is so old!

Have construction plans been finalized, for the proposed consolidated school. Any illustrations or architectural renderings, someone can attach?

I've heard they wanted to do 3 different wings. An elementary, middle school, and high school. Right now they have K-12 in the same building using the same facilities. This can be rough when you have 6'2'' 220 pound guys that are late for class with 3'6'' 1st graders in their way.

Not positive this is just what I've been told.

I like Rupp's suggestion on Ridge Runners!

Mt. Olivet Masseys:thumb:

Although I still like Hilltoppers; I'll also nominate

Rough Riders

Vandals

I like that.

While we're at it let's rename Mason County to Maysville Myricks.

Robertson County Razorbacks

Robertson County Rebels
