I was at a Bengals game along time ago and Fryman won the punt, kick and pass thing they used to do.

Fryman is clearly an incredible athlete.

Is it August yet?

Give me Seneca Driver. Unreal force on O and D. Also punts. Nothing the young man can’t do.

Driver is as well which I think plays in his favor for the race. 67 tackles, 5 INTs with 2 returned for TDs, 10 TFLs, and 3 sacks. All playing LB for the first time.

The best! Can't wait to watch him speed kills!

Any players that should be added to the watchlist?

I would think the two leaders right now are Seneca Driver & Zane Johnson. Seneca may have the best shot of all seniors to play on Sundays. Zane may lead his team to 4 state titles in 4 seasons as the starting QB... has anyone else ever done that?

Best wishes to all the young men in this conversation. Enjoy that last season of Friday Night HS football!

I for one, and I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I hate topics like this, just like I hate all of the preseason Heisman talk. Who knows that what a kid may come out of nowhere and have a season of a lifetime, but with all the talk going on we have eliminated 99% of the rest of the players in the state. It becomes a popularity contest, instead of the best player in the state and not the best player on the best team in the state. I know, I'm in the minority, so I'll simply move to the back of the room with my popcorn and all the discussion to continue.

Driver may have the best chance to play on Sundays, and I am not discounting that, but hear me out... He's not the best football player on this list.

Carothers is great, has good measurables, but again, not the best football player.

Zane Johnson is incredible, great QB. But not the best football.

I'm biased, but the two best FOOTBALL players in the state are in two small independent school districts in Northern Kentucky.

Tyler Fryman and Tayden Lorenzen. When it comes down to just pure, overall football, those are the two that are great in my opinion. The nod will go to Fryman because of his UK commitment, but, they both play both ways, (so does Driver) and they both are absolute monster game changers.

Just one guy's biased opinion. But I think Mr. Football is coming to the northernmost edge of our state.

Head to head...

Driver: 1 catch, 84 yards one TD, 8 tackles, TFL, 1 INT

Lorenzen: 5 carries 9 yards 1 TD, 1 catch 30 yards, 1 tackle

I know a lot more goes into it than numbers, but Driver is an alien among mortals.

This is valid. Funny enough I was watching Driver highlights after I posted this and saw the big play, it was an absolute busted coverage by HHS. (That doesn't take anything away from Driver, just a glaringly obvious broken play.)

Will be curious to see how the rematch goes this year.

Should be a big time game!

It’s wild seeing how much bigger he looks this season. Watching film last year he looks skinny.

I actually agree with the playing both ways deal as a positive for SD. But regrettably that did not help Connor Hodge in the MF race, despite complete dominance on both sides of the ball.
