2026 Mr. Football: Off-Season Discussion

Looking at stats Lorenzen looks more impressive over Driver because he can play QB/TE and LB also will be a 4 year srarter. But Fryman stats are off the charts he is Mr Football as long as he stays healthy his Senior year and will be a 4 year starter. Driver is a great athlete no knock on him.

Not the stats when they played against each other. Lorenzen had 6 more TDs on the year, but Driver had more yards and way more stats on defense since Lorenzen doesn’t really play that side of the ball.

Give me Seneca Driver. Unreal force on O and D. Also punts. Nothing the young man can’t do.

Driver is as well which I think plays in his favor for the race. 67 tackles, 5 INTs with 2 returned for TDs, 10 TFLs, and 3 sacks. All playing LB for the first time.

Fryman’s offensive play wasn’t even utilized compared to any other player considered in this discussion.

Hopefully he’s given a bigger opportunity todo more in 2026.  His ceiling is very high.

More important to the Fort Mitchell community, he’s even better person than he is a football player, baseball player or a track athlete.

His schedule kills him. At best, he will only play a full 10 of a possible 20 quarters bc they will destroy teams so badly next year.

So basically a direct comparison to Mayer.

Would be awesome to see him go the same route. Mayer plays on Sundays and that’s a lot to put on a HS JR right now, but I think the possibility is for sure there.

Half the Beechwood schedule is against 4A-6A schools and Fryman's best games statistically last year were against those large schools plus Owensboro Catholic.

Common opponent 2025 Covington Catholic:

Driver - 2 rushes 16 yards; 8 tackles

Fryman - 6 rushes 44 yards; 6 catches 104 yards, 1 TD; 11 tackles

Boyle also had a RB go for 450 yards and it was a clock runner. Pretty different game script from getting beat by 28 and having to throw the entire game.

Incorrect assumptions

Start of Q4 CCH 21 BW 14.

With 5 1/2 minutes left, CCH 28 BW 14

Two late scores made the game look worse than it was.

Boyle threw it 5 times. Beechwood threw it 29. You don’t have to pass when you’re running for 536 yards.

True.

My main point is Fryman puts up numbers against good competition.

Yes, Fryman is a baller.

Right, bc he got to play 4 quarters without a running clock.

This should say 10 of 20 halves.

You don’t get an offer to ND without being the best of the best.

Keep in mind Fryman is also one of the best baseball players in the country for his position and possibly one of the fastest track runners in the State.

That’s a great point but also not a solid endorsement for Driver for Mr. Football.  It’s hard enough to get the award from the TE spot, but if you don’t have to pass the ball then he needs to either get running opportunities or be the best defensive player in the state.
