Even Chuck Smith, with his podcast, doesn't make it a point to ever really add specific commentary on how things are done at Boyle County.

Coach Glaser needs to pipe down. Sure, put on a St. X sweatshirt and go to games. Shake some hands. Give your past players a slap on the back when you see them and talk all you want about how great things were back in the good 'ol days. But keep it to yourself about what's going on in the program now. You're not helping, Coach.

He still teaches at the school and is Asst. Basketball coach now so he's very involved at the school.

MG is part of the problem on Poplar Level road. The school is not near the same one my Son/BiL/FiL attended.

If it's true of Shoptaw transferring, I don't think will be a competition and he will be the guy. Otherwise, I would think Burmester would be the guy. Burmester got a lot of reps in JV games and played in the 4th quarter of Boyle County game after Artman had rough 3 quarters in that game.

The insistence by some that the seniors at St X have no talent is bovine excrement.

Neither of the rising Seniors are Trimble but most high school quarterbacks aren’t.

Burmester has a nice arm and very accurate. Reads progressions very well. Baseball player and good athlete. Not a real threat to run every down. Very bright kid.

Artman is 6’4” or better and has a rocket arm. Not as accurate. Very fast and outstanding athlete. If the offense needs a dual threat quarterback he has the edge. If he’s not the quarterback he will be on the field somewhere else.

Artman struggled at Boyle but the blocking and play selection was abysmal. Burmester played really well but they didn’t put him in until the 4th quarter.

Both are great kids and very well liked by their teammates. Neither have let their competition interfere with the team.

The rising sophomore came in with alot of fanfare so I would not count him out. I suspect it’s a step up from 1-A to 6-A or 1-A to Boyle. If a transfer is anointed without a competition it won’t sit well with the team. If the transfer is better and earns it the fact that he is transfer won’t be an issue at all. It’s should be an interesting competition.

WYMT has also reported that they confirmed with new Hazard head coach Jordan Amis that Shoptaw has unerolled at Hazard and will be transferring to X. I'd have to assume that means the transfer is taking place now and not at the end of the school year.

There were some rising seniors who played key roles for the Tigers last year, there just isn't very much depth in that particular class, there are just pieces. The rising juniors and sophomores will be counted on to fill in significant roles next year. 

It's nice to add competition, but I agree, if a transfer is just handed a starting spot at any position for any school it's not a great look. There is going to be a learning curve for anyone coming from a 1A school into a top 6A program. I'm not sure who the first three opponents are for Hazard, but X will open up with Owensboro, Bowling Green, and Male. So, we'll find out pretty quick how he adjusts. 

This is results from senior class when freshman. You can really see how much talent Trinity has by looking at the result of that game. Other games were competitive.

The senior class went 5-2 as sophomores. The Oline had limited bodies freshman year. 
mad tends to happen, kids improved as they aged.
