I watched Coach Landis's interview with Jason Frakes of the Courier-Journal. He said the QB position is still a competition and a starter hasn't been decided yet. He thinks the strength of team will be up front. He spoke highly of OL Graham Centimole who has size and can move and has Ivy League school offers so very smart. He said only returned 2 starters on offense with Cooper Yates at RB returning with the most stats, so lack Friday Night experience to start the season. On defense he mentioned DE/LB Korey Tutt as a guy that can create havoc. The most experience is the two DB's Jamari Carroll and Te'Are Wilson-Towns who started last year. He said LB Henry Atkins is a leader on the team and is the type of kid he would have recruited when he was a coach at Georgia State saying he has good size and length. Overall he said they are young and inexperienced and the scrimmages will help but will need to grow up fast with a tough schedule.

Yes, I watched some of it on hudl and wasn't in game format. They just took turns on offense and defense and I know St. X played a lot of kids and I'm sure Ballard did too. St. X scored more times than Ballard but not sure what personnel were in throughout the scrimmage. The Frederick Douglass scrimmage next Friday should be more like a game and will be better to get info from.

Overall X did not look great. The press on the quarterback situation seems hard to explain given how the 3 kids played. It is hard to understand why the courier journal reported that as a decided issue when it’s clearly not. Hershel Highfield looked good running the ball. Receivers did not catch the ball well. The Defense looked better than the offense. It’s going to take awhile and hopefully some injured kids get back on the field.

From what I watched I would agree. Looking forward to Frederick Douglass scrimmage to get better read on team whether good or bad.
