The loses by the Cats don’t have everyone rushing on here to post like normal. This one was ugly. Matt Jones just tweeted how we been down by 15 or more quite a bit over the last two years. Luckily they came back to win a couple of them last year. However, the Pope era while refreshing with his new approach to things. Also we UK fans have been very unlucky these last 6 to 7 years. As injuries have played a big role it seems like almost every year during this time frame. 

- I brought up multiple times last season that getting behind double digits continually is a bad long-term indicator. Sadly, that doesn't seem to have improved this year, but the season is young.

- On the injuries, yeah. Injuries seemed to be an uncommon thing, but the last several years - as you noted - it seems to be more commonplace. Not sure if that is the same with other programs?

If there are 17 teams that play better than MSU did last night, it's going to be a really interesting season!!

The problem is we have now heard this twice in the last week. Louisville played as well as they possibly could, MSU has played as well as they possibly could. So the issue is, what is happening for why UK is letting teams be able to play their best possible game against them?

Where the big from Michigan State in the first half tried a jump hook over Garrison and he he looked like a 5th grader and turned and ran under the basket and the ball came right back to the Michigan State player he shoots again and misses and out hustled Garrision to the ball again! Then I believe kicked it out for a wide open 3.

I didn't watch last night's press conference, but just came across a Barstool article about it. The gist of it was that the press conference was bizarre, and based on the remarks, the team was not motivated last night, and that, generally speaking, they do not like one another. Mid-season blues at the 10% point of the season is generally not a good thing.

If you have played or been watching basketball for any period of time, you fully realize that Louisville and MichSt both shot the rock as well as they could vs Ky and probably will not repeat that effort again this season. So saying that Ky is falling apart this early into a season is absurd.

I think we all get it. The problem is that when teams are regularly having "career days" against the same foe, you can only let the common denominator off the hook so many times. We are all glass-half-full at this point, especially with the injuries UK has and the season being young. But again, we have zero evidence that these are blips when we have all of last season as a case study that they were porous on defense. It is more than fair to ask for a modicum of sustained defensive success, even this early in the season.

Two games straight with opponents having career games shooting vs a common opponent means absolutely nothing, let’s talk about Ky’s defense again in about 10 more games, then the stats will mean so much more.
