Madisonville-North Hopkins 25 Paducah Tilghman 22

Madisonville knocks PT off their perch at the top of 4A and ends the longest winning streak in the state.

PT's dropped passes were a theme and they will feel they left a lot out there, but in the end, the Maroons dominated time of possession and did exactly what they needed to do to pull this one off.

I honestly feel like PT needed to take one on the chin. You don't ever want to lose, but I don't hate it. Time to come back to reality and lose that invincible feeling.  I've said all season that

  • Give Madisonville credit they controlled they clock and kept Tilghman’s high powered offense off the field. They are better then I thought.

4A is going to be fun in the playoffs! Congrats MNH on the big win. I'm sure Hightower had a big game and just put all of 5A on notice.

They actually held him in check about as much as you can. He had 91 yds  but had over 50 on one carry in the first qtr. Wasn't really a factor after that, this was just a really weird game.

Madisonville held the ball just under 30 minutes, which is exactly what you wanted to do.

I've said all season that they would be later in the season before all these guys meshed together if they do and this just further proved that.

Second, as several said before this was a trap game for Tilghman and they played like it. But most seasons a game to get refocused can be a helpful thing. I think They can benefit from this going forward.
Third, Madisonville has a good team like last season. And playing in Madisonville is an advantage. That game vs Owensboro will be one to keep an eye on. The district and keeping on the opposite side of the bracket from BG in the early rounds could be on the line in that game.
Congrats on the win!

The blocked punt returned for a TD was a huge momentum shift in the game as well.

I did leave them some constructive feedback about the NFHS stream on their website. Lol

Maybe they'll get a chuckle out of it too. I was laughing typing it. It was so, so bad.

Weirdest game by far from the play calling to the dropped balls. Like you said they did what was needed to be done. I would like to blame this on my injuries. That’s not the case though when our Oline still held up and d-line held one of the top running backs in the state to minimum yards.

Suprised but not totally shocked...PT didn't play their best but you have to take your hat off to NHM....

Congrats on the win!

Every Athletic Director in america hates NFHS. They were free during COVID and have remained free for a reason. Garbage service who show up to campus unannounced and expect you to build your day around them.
