I think Fredrick Douglass has a few weeks of learning about this team before really beginning to play at a high level.  I like Highlands to win this one 28-14.

Imo, Birds need to move ball down the field little at a time.‘short passes and runs. No need to go big! Use the line and athletes they have, and let D be aggressive. That’s been missing this pre season so far! 

I am in this camp with what I have seen so far.  Do realize it was preseason scrimmages, but there just seemed to be something lacking.  22 is a playmaker and needs to be involved in the offense from the jump.  Good luck to both teams as they prepare for a tough opening week game.

Ditto. If FD can avoid injuries to a few of their better, younger players through the first 5 games, the 2nd half of their season should see them in a much better light.

A couple of days (today - thursday) doesn't equal a couple of games, however. Yes, by the time district play for the Broncos begins, they will be a much better team. 

Not now. These Baby Broncos have a ways to go. This is a far cry from past FD teams. I haven't seen many posts about Highlands NOT being a contender in their class. So unless the fans are overinflating this Birds team, a loss by any score, while playing at home would be a huge upset!

Sounds like Douglass doesn't have a chance in this game and Highlands scores an easy victory. ?

Highlands IMO is a work in progress as well.  Don’t get me wrong, this team is talented, but do lack in experience at some key positions (receiver, linebacker and defensive back).  May take some early games for some of that to work itself out.  I will say that I don’t remember Highlands playing this type of schedule when the talent is there, usually these games are played a year or two after.

It’ll be strange watching from so far, but I am excited to watch the Birds play this year. It’ll be a gauntlet, but I’m still taking Highlands. If they can stay healthy - their skill positions are some of the best in KY. I’d expect a shootout style game. Excited to see who steps up defensively, but these linebackers are going to be good. Let’s go Bluebirds!

Do you have any idea if FT Film and Broadcast is going to stream the game/games this year?

Guessing it will be a far cry from last year with Brennan Bucher now killing it at ASU!

Assuming we have a broadcast I also assume Brennan coached them up.  We always have to prepare the new guys/girls to take our place.

They had a student this past Friday doing the PA and there were cameras as well. I'm sure they will again this Friday. All I ask is maybe just turn down a tic. Boy it was loud. Early kinks to work out.

I saw the video for the Blue/White game published on the Youtube channel so that got me thinking we will have game video too.  Fingers crossed.

I think Highlands will just line up and run FD over... 

For those asking…yes FT Film and Broadcast will be broadcasting the game. I’m sure they will be world class as always!

I doubt Highlands is looking over FD in any way. This is a coin flip game. Douglass is a top shelf program. With Douglass’s speed Highlands better be ready. Birds looked a little sleepy at times in all of their scrimmages. I hope they worked that out of their system.
