Holmes Coaching Search...

Featured Replies

With CCH and Beechwood both signing head coaches, maybe Holmes will get more attention from coaches looking for a new job.

I think you mean Lloyd, not Beechwood.

That's what I said. :sssh:

I have heard through reliable sources in the coaching community, is that Lickert from Dayton has applied and is being interviewed some time in the near future.

Probably so. He'd be a strong hire for Holmes. I'm not sure if they've started the interview process yet so its still early.

Lickert would be a great hire! Young coach, full of energy, and has really done a fine job at Dayton.

The only coach that i heard applied was Mr.Turner, Lee Turner's Dad. For all you people who dont know Lee. Lee coach at Cov Cath during the 2002 season with Barry Jones and company. I think he went to Scott with the rest of the group to coach. Lee Turner also played at Holmes. From what i understand it would be a good hire for Holmes

Your right, It would be a terrific hire for Holmes, but it could be career suicide for him if he is not able to turn around a program that is definitely one of the worst jobs in NKY hs football.

I don't buy that for a second. There are worse jobs in NKY and those jobs do not have the potential nor a relatively recent taste of success like Holmes does. If you're Steve Lickert, this is a no-brainer. The district is going to be tough with Dixie, Highlands, and CCH but it doesn't mean he cannot succeed.

I think this could be a win/tie situation for a coach. If he succeeds, he's a football genius. If he doesn't succeed, it can be attributed to the school and not the coach.

Lickert again with coaching interviews, how many post can we give this guy?

Your point?

The point being, he is linked to every job that has been open in nky. I am one of the biggest Lickert fans, so don't take it the wrong way. Holmes would be in a great company with Lickert. You have to admit, boy gets alot of press.

Ken Turner coached at Holes in the mid 90's and had very successful teams.
