February 1, 200719 yr Back to the topic... Alando Tucker is a wild card pick.. but Durant is gonna be tough to be out, although you gotta believe he is going to cool off.I really like Tucker but if I'm an NBA exec (which I'm thankful this is hypothetical), I take Durant if available....size and shooting, is a rare combo in the big show.
February 1, 200719 yr Just finished watching Texas beat Texas Tech at Lubbock. Kevin Durant with 37 points and 23 rebounds against a Bob Knight-coached team. Averaging 34ppg in conference play. To use a phrase I saw somewhere else in this forum, LEGENDARY. Is he the best player in the NCAA as a freshman? I say yes. Without question.
February 1, 200719 yr I still think Ohio State's big center will be the number one pick. He's over 7 feet tall and is still playing with an injured hand (he has to shoot his free throws left handed). When he's completely healthy he's going to be something else. Big guys who are good are hard to come by in the NBA. If it's the Celtics who have the first pick, I don't think they'll pass this guy up.
February 1, 200719 yr He's more complete than Melo at this stage... Goodness, I find myself agreeing with you more and more.:thumb: I chalk it up to me getting old and senility setting in.
February 1, 200719 yr Durant is the hands down best freshman in the country, maybe one of the top-5 players in the NCAA at this point!!!

February 1, 200719 yr Maybe in the top 5? Let's see that list... Morris, Crawford, Perry, Bradley, and Jasper.
February 1, 200719 yr Easily best freshman, but not the best overall player. He would be 4 or 5 on my list for this year.
February 1, 200719 yr He is simply amazing! He is hands down the POY and could steal the #1 pick from Oden.
