I love O’Hara he’s amazing , but does it seem like NKY doesn’t have as many good passing QBs in the area as normal? 3.5 QBs as you mentioned seems like a low number.

Honestly this past year I thought there was more good passing QBs in NKY than normal. Verax at Ryle is also very good.

Pardon my ignorance:

Why is that picture in the Cooper thread?

What is the purpose of that drill?

It is Cooper's QB.

Thought that might be the case, but the pic looks like it is at Highlands' field with the guy holding the workout band wearing Highlands blue.

You are right about all that.  This is from Cam's mom:

Friday nights can be intense, especially with Highlands being our biggest rival in recent years. But beyond the competition, much respect to Highlands and to Mario for welcoming Cam onto their home turf during the offseason. Iron sharpens iron, as they say. It’s great to see relationships forming beyond the game—bonds built on Friday nights that have the potential to last a lifetime??

Spring practice starts next Monday for the Jags.

Today is the Jags final practice of spring ball. Anyone have a report on how spring ball has gone so far?

What I'm hearing out of Cooper...

1. QB play appears to be solid. I think they like their starter.

2. They lost their basketball coach to the transfer portal.

3. YouTube streaming of parental analysis of the coaching at Cooper has been way down lately.

I feel like you are really going out on a limb with this one!! ?

A large portion of Cooper's projected starters were in spring sports and missed all of spring practice. I expect them to have more 2 way players this year than in the recent past, but they should be very good again.

The departure of assistant Chuck Hendrix is another ding to this program.  Chuck dedicated unimaginable time to the kids, Union Jags/Cooper HS program and the youth in the community as well.  The athletes respect and look up to him as a great leader and that will be a void this year.

Where he is coaching at this season?

By my count Cooper lost 3 defensive assistant coaches from last year and at least 1 offensive assistant coach as well. One was lost to retirement, 2 to work/family conflicts, and 1 was a mutual parting of ways. Borchers has found coaches to replace those lost. The jags will be fine.

Also, rooting for Coach Hendrix. He was one of my favorites on the Cooper staff. Big, big fan.

IMO there is only 2 qbs in NKY that could even be mentioned in the same sentence as a O'Hara when it comes to spinning the football, Litmer and Evans and there is still a gap there. I love Harney but I can't put him in the top as a passer, as a athlete and winner, yes.

O'Hara is by far the best QB in NKY. Litmer and Evans are solid QBs. Both are very comfortable in the pocket. Cash is a great athlete, but like you said passing is not his strong suit, especially when he only throws one pass in the first minute of his highlight film on HUDL. First thing a college coach will say when he see that is great athletes, but he can't throw.
