Troy Smith Pushing the Browns

Featured Replies

Looks like Troy Smith is pushing the Browns to draft him. Are the Browns a right fit for Troy?

Drafting this kid int he first round would be a major mistake by the Browns.

Not taking anything away, from the Heisman but CSHS81 is correct....the Offensive line needs, are so glaring that protection would be a problem and a scrambling, 5'-11" QB....is not the answer.

Browns need to address several areas and unless they plan to take him, learn for 2-3 and build through Draft and Trade....take need first and boy, do the Browns need.

It would be like Couch all over again. They have a couple of good QB's better get the O-line in order first.

Troy Smith would be a good pick for the Browns....in the 4th or 5th round.

:thumb: I agree completely STRIKE3, the Browns don't need a QB, and need to focus on improving the offensive line. Please stay away from Troy Smith, Phil Savage and Romeo!

I agree STRIKE, they do have many more important needs than a QB early. If he is still ther eafter they address some "O" line issus and others .......yes. I doubt that he will be there then. I am not saying Smith wil go real early, just not real late either.

If he's available in the 3rd or 4th round, go for it

Smith will go before the 3rd or 4th round.

I agree. If his line wasn't dominated by Florida so bad he would still be considered a mid to late first rounder. That's what every one has based his talent on is his last game. He almost no time to throw the ball, find his recievers, or scramble. With that being said, I don't think he would be a bad pick in the 2nd or 3rd round, but not the first. None of the late first round picks need a QB really. As a fan, I hope he doesn't go to the grave yard for QB's in Cleveland.

Must be something about Cleveland that Ohio kids love. Lebron politiced for the Cav's, Smith doing the same for the Browns. Worked in the NBA, and I'm sure anything other than Charlie Frye will work for the Browns in the NFL.

I still dont remember him really ever being mentioned as a first rounder even before the BCS game...

He is not a 1st rounder

I wouldn't take him until the 2nd day, he's short, and most short guys are a gamble at the next level.
