We really don't care who gets it between them. Our biggest goal as a fan base is to get back to what we had several years ago. Personally I would love to have Rector. He would bring discipline back and we would be in position to get back to state. If it's Demarcus, I think he brings a "Prime Time" buzz but, does that help us reach our GOALS? I'm not sure to be honest but we need BUZZ and DISCIPLINE back in the program.

Has anyone heard anything on the DC or Henderson openings?  Very quiet!!!  Or do they have to wait the 30 days so it could still be a bit

If it is an internal hire, I believe it is 7-14 days. If it is an open hire, it is 30 days. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That's as good a 5-year run Owensboro as has had in the last 30 years. You could say the '99-'01 run was better over three years and that the '12-'14 run was as good as '20-'23, but the last four to five years have been absolutely phenomenal by Owensboro standards. 

The norm is not to play for State Championships at Owensboro. Since 1990, 34 seasons, Owensboro has played in 4 Finals, once every 8 or-so years. 

The norm also isn't to win State Championships. The last seniors to win a State Title at Owensboro are all now 54-56 years old. 

So, can we dispel this idea that Owensboro has some vaunted past that we are trying to return to? At the end of the day, Owensboro has a steady pulse of good and bad years. When they are up, they are hard to beat and go late into the playoffs, and when they are down, they get bounced in the 1st and 2nd rounds.

This makes me think that Owensboro was "just tired of Fallin" not getting over the hump, because even though O lost to Freddie twice they did beat them once when most probably thought they wouldn't.  Then last year they SHOCKED South and nearly put a running clock on them at Rash in the second round.

I point this out to say there will likely be quite a bit of pressure on the new guy with the projected team Owensboro has coming into the 2025 season.  And IF O does not "win the championship" then is it any better or worse than Fallin would have done with this team?  Think that's a fair question.  Trying to get to 26 TWT!

I think it would be the same 88. No better. No worse!!

The RPI has helped us a ton. When we had to play a good team like Douglass we got exposed. 
 

I'm excited for our future. We have a ton of coaches coming to see Hampton and what a great time to be a Red Devil. 

Talked to a good friend of mine at the Owensboro basketball game last night and I think the years to come for Owensboro are promising. 
 

In short, good hire or bad hire we will always be Owensboro.

You’re exactly right! I tell folks historically OHS plays in a state championship game about twice a decade. The other 8 years the Red Devils will probably make 2-3 semi-finals appearances. Then the rest of the time a 2nd round playoff run. For the last 40+ years Paducah and Bowling Green have usually been a thorn in our sides in the playoffs. Recently I think most OHS fans just hate the way the offense looks. It’s been too run heavy. CAL, Bowling Green, Owensboro Catholic, etc have come in and had imaginative offenses. While we run right. Run left. Play action pass. Whoever is the next head coach needs to have some creativity on offense. Personally I’m not excited to hear Ganaway’s name.

Me personally I wouldn’t like to see Rector, but if that doesn’t work I want to see Ganaway. 
 

IF these two don’t work out and I’ve said this before we need to go after Edge or Morris.
