Dual-threat quarterback Connor Hodge and the CAL Centurions host the streaking Lexington Catholic Knights for a chance to play for the 3A title.

CAL is coming off a revenge win over Central, a 42 point swing between how bad they lost back in the regular season to how dominantly they won last night.

Lexington Catholic is winner of 7 in a row. They have relied on Matthew Kern and Brady Wasik on both sides of the ball as well as a dynamic cast of playmakers both offensively and defensively. They have only allowed 14 points or less in every game they have played in class, and their marquee win is a 36-29 road victory over Scott County.

The home team probably has the edge here but don’t count out the Knights as they may very well have the horsepower to slow down Hodge and the balanced offense needed to have success against the Centurion defense.

1st play, pick 6 for CAL by Stone Perkins.  XP is good.  22-0 CAL with 1:07 left in the 1st quarter.

No slight intended on CAL's schedule.  They're certainly tested and ready.  The point of my post is simple...unlike most people I do not think this is  blowout game.

This game was complete annihilation last year in CAL's favor. I'm not going to go that far with my prediction, but I do think the Centurions win handily.

I really don’t see that happening.

I understand your frustration.

Lex Cath is definitely playing much better as of late after a rough start, albeit against tough competition.  CAL needs to start fast in this one & hopefully not have that proverbial “hangover” after the big win over Central.  I like CAL in this one by anywhere from 2-4 TDs.  Anything can happen though as we’ve seen that a few times already in these playoffs.

I'd like it if Lex. Catholic were to win but I think CAL gets the win since they are the best team in 3A.

Cal Wins big here and will win state championship the week after!

Hard to get high schoolers not view teams they blew out the previous year as a walk in the park. CAL has to avoid a slow start IMO to avoid the upset.

Well documented Lex Cath has played a BRUTAL schedule.  I watched them play two of their losses and they gave Highlands (5A) and Great Crossing (6A) everything they wanted and both of these teams are still playing in their respective classes.  Lex Cath's DB's are smart, disciplined and make plays.  On offense they have weapons and very opportunistic play calling.  Unlike some folks here, I think this is a back and forth contest.  Lex Cath packs a punch and I think this game comes down to the final minutes to decide who goes to Kroger Field.   Best of luck to BOTH squads and I hope the fans get to see what I think will be a great football game.

Both teams have played tough schedules. I decided to look at the SOS in Calpreps and CAL is at 10.3 with Lexington Catholic at 5.3. Lexington Catholic's best win is probably over Scott County and last week against Bell County. I'd argue CAL has four better wins in Heritage Hills, Manual, Central, and Owensboro than anything Lexington Catholic has.

Can the Knights win? Maybe, and they have certainly improved as the year progressed. However, I think it will look similar to last year's CAL victory, which was 43-8.

I think judging by who each team played and how they played them.. I like CAL.. but I think LexCath definitely has a chance in this one. I'll say CAL by 10-12 points.
