I've had my share of dust-ups with you lately, so perhaps I'm blinded by that, but again, I just don't see any possible way to leave Wilt off this list. I'm a huge fan of Shaq, but he couldn't lead the league in assists if he had a gun to his head.

Wilt can't get past the 6'9" Russell's shadow. Imagine how big the 7'2" Shaq's shadow would fall had he played in that era.

January 30, 200719 yr I can't imagine there is any possible way you could make an NBA Top 5 list and not include Wilt. I just can't imagine what the argument would be. After some consideration, I'd have to agree. I'm just not sure who I put him in for.

I may be a little too young for this whole topic, b/c I can only go on what I've heard and read and not on what I've seen. Here's my questions for you so that I could put a list together. This doesn't ask for pisitions so if your list would have to have Wilt (I agree w/ that by the way) does it not also have to include Russel? Would you have had to have won a title to be considered? I've read that stats were extremely inflated when Oscar was on his magical run. Is that true and if so how? Is there any denying that the players now are for more athletic all around than the older guys? For instance is it possible that Wilt and a few like him are just like today's athletes and not everyone was as athletic and big as they were?

January 30, 200719 yr Oh my. I'm speechless. Utterly and completely speechless. I need to sit down. Wilt couldn't beat Russell like Russell beat him. If Shaq had played in that era, do you think either could have played with him. I've watched video and both are slower, smaller, and just not the physical specimen that Shaq was in his prime.
