What a Charmin soft society we've turned in to. 

I watched the whole thing but all of 15 seconds in I could tell this was going to be pretty tame. I wish this coach would have dug in. 

I cannot begin to tell you how much I hate these locker room "gotcha" videos that get released months later. Just makes me sick. Put the content aside - if you have a problem with how a coach is acting and speaking, ADDRESS IT THEN.

I know him personally.  He's a young coach that probably made a mistake in the verbage he used.  What the average person slamming him on Social Media doesn't realize is all the time this man has put in trying to turn a futile Lynn Camp basketball program around.  I'm not condoning the language, I think the part I dislike the most is how a minute clip can ruin/damage a person's life.

This is not a fun job to have. The video was released because someone was upset another Coach got let go. So now you're down two coaches in a program that is already barely staying afloat year to year. No one wins in this situation. 

Personally that whole talk irritates the heck out of me. I cannot stand people using the f word as an adjective every other word. If you talked like that in my presence, I would make a mockery of you by replying using the f word every other word in a 2 minute response. I would show you how ignorant you are.

That said, it is the way so many young people talk today no one should be shocked by it. I don't see it as a cause for resignation. Reprimand and coach him up. Suspension for a game or two perhaps but not a resignation.

I kept waiting for the part that got him fired.... It never came for me.

I can get behind the idea that he (or anybody) doesn't NEED to curse. Completely understand that argument. 

I don't think it necessarily makes someone ignorant, though. In some situations that's absolutely the case, but I don't think everyone that cusses a lot is ignorant. 

I concur that this language and its’ repetitiveness is not excuseable.  If this has not been addressed in the past then the administration needed to man-up and have the necessary talk, warning and written/signed notification that this was unacceptable leadership by the Coach.  Cellphones recording in the locker room with social media posting months later……smacks of a cowardly act.

If you never want to get caught saying anything vulgar or obscene, then just don’t say anything vulgar or obscene. It’s not that difficult. I’ve been a basketball coach since 2001 and never have any of my players ever heard me say the F word.

No doubt that is one word that a leader of young men should never use, as is the “gd” word that we all need to lose forever.

I’m not naive enough to believe that these kids don’t hear and use the F word daily from parents and amongst their friends. However the sexually explicit use of the words about the kids in the first few seconds of the video was totally over the top. Coaches cuss. Is it needed? Probably not. The Lord’s name in vain for me is never ok either but I realize not everyone may have the same beliefs as me. 

I took a basketball coaching class at WKU in the early 90’s from Johnny Oldham. 2 (of many) things he said to me have always stayed with me. 1. Don’t be sarcastic with high school kids while coaching them. 2. Cussing is minimal… when they hear it they should think “oh boy, Coach is really mad”. It shouldn’t be every sentence.
