  1. Until someone beats Pulaski they are the favorite. They return plenty and I think won both the JV and Freshman regions. Mercer had them on the ropes and couldn’t get it done. I read in another post that Wayne hadn’t beat them in 10 years. The three teams listed all have a shot but have to go do it.
  2. They graduate 4 (2 starters) and Radford has announced he was done on Instagram. Jones has been rumored to be transferring. Last I heard was to Douglass. So he is pretty well starting from scratch if they all indeed not return. He should be able to implement whatever he wants.
  3. Most English IV classes are only a semester long and not a whole year.
  4. Pulaski is not a perennial favorite to play on the big stage of a state football championship and Boyle and Corbin are. He can play with a lot of D1 talent at those schools that will get him seen by a lot of good college coaches. He is a D1 football talent and probably not for basketball.
  5. I have heard Boyle or Corbin are the two places he might have already been looking at for football reasons.
  6. Brian Milam is reporting it on his Twitter. One of the true legends in the 12th region as well as Ky High School basketball.
  7. A fun fact that probably not a lot of people know and may not care but this core group of seniors for Lyon Co also won the KBA 6th grade middle school state tournament in Lexington. Perry moved up to varsity as a seventh grader then.
  8. Without a doubt it is Great Crossings to lose. They show up and play like they have all season they will win it. Too much overall talent and size across the board.
  9. They can call but I see no way he takes this job. They return Jones and the Duke kid is good but other than that not much else. Hall and Harris graduate and Radford has already announced he is done. West has the international kid and returns a good core group of guards to go with him. Mercer returns 3 of their top 4 scorers and even Trinity Christian returns all of their players but one that made the region this year. Also the possibility of them moving back to the 11th makes this a very unattractive job in my opinion. The West job might be a possibility for him but still May end up back in the 11th.
  10. Are you sure those numbers are right? I don’t think there is anyway Boyle holds 500 more than Mercer.
  11. So from the tone I’m reading here we could see Open Job: Boyle County in the near future? This is a coach that is not far removed from a 12th region championship and state tournament win.
  12. I don’t disagree with you at all but it does happen. I think Zeismer did. I agree they should be kids as long as possible.
  13. If you weren’t in the end zone 100 feet from the court I agree. $15 for a seat on the side that is still a good distance away and $20 to set on 3 row portable bleachers is way too high.
  14. They are tremendous athletes and great basketball players. I do not think they have any basketball offers and certainly not the quality offers they have in football if they do. Don’t be surprised if we don’t see them on the basketball court at all next year. I could see them graduating in December and heading off to their respective colleges to be able to go through spring practice and be ready for the fall season.
  15. Glad I don’t care who wins the 13th. That is ridiculous to charge for a high school region game. Especially as far from the court as those seats were in the All A.
  16. I gave them a chance in my first comment. Coach Woods will have a good game plan after playing them. Will be a good game.
  17. First glance that Wayne/DCA matchup is a monster. I know DCA just handled them pretty good at home but I said earlier I didn’t think coach Woods would show his full hand in that one. How will DCA react to last nights loss. Very good first round game.
  18. The off floor issues had to do with a fight after the West/Burgin game Monday night between some West fans and East fans that two key players from East got involved in. The coaching staff held the players accountable and went to battle with what they had. Have to admire that from a coach. Along with his YOY improvement I would say his job is safe. The PG post you mentioned was in reference to him giving up basketball to pursue a singing/acting career.
  19. Good tough win by Pulaski. Really thought Rock would get them at home but Fraley and the Maroons wouldn’t be denied.
  20. I do think you could see something like this in the near future: East, West, Trinity, Garrard, KSD or DCA Boyle, Danville, Mercer, Burgin, KSD or DCA Rock, Lincoln, Casey, Somerset, Pulaski here or in the bottom Wayne, McCreary, Southwestern, Somerset Christian, maybe Pulaski
  21. I think you are pretty well spot on with this weeks rankings. Barring any major injuries I think we see the top 8 in the region except for either Pulaski/Rock which should be replaced by number 9 East. However, it is almost March and the madness could take any of them out. Give me: DCA over Lincoln in the 45th. Coach Jackson is just a master at game planning when his back is against the wall and his kids are disciplined to carry it out. Mercer over East in the 46th. I expect closer games than what has been the case in the regular season. Somerset over Rock in the 47th. I think Rock uses the home court advantage to take Pulaski out. It will take a lot out of them to do it though and Godbey and Whitaker close it out in the championship. Wayne over Southwestern in the 48th. I think this is the one I’m most unsure about considering the injury to Farmer and some of their depth players. Southwestern is rolling at the right time but I think the Phillips boys and Dumphord have enough to get it done.
  22. Somerset was all but eliminated according to some last week.
  23. Been saying all year that Southwestern would get in the region from the 48th and that any team that gets in has a legitimate chance to win it and it could be a team with a losing record even. They have size and Hudson can flat play. Hate to hear of the injuries to Wayne. Farmer is a big part of what they do. Does anyone know who the other two that were mentioned are and the role they played? Mercer should be fine. They played a stretch of 3 games in 4 days with two on the road. Southwest shot extremely well and Mercer not so much from the stats. still the most intriguing games in the first round of District are Lincoln/Boyle and Pulaski/Rockcastle. Two pretty good teams are for sure going home early. Give me coach of the year Jackson and Lincoln with Rockcastle pulling it off at home to advance.
  24. Wasn’t able to see the game and no stats posted yet. What was the turning point of the game. Score seemed close and competitive through half. Wayne just not hit shots? Did they have good shots? DCA turn them over a lot?
