The Rebels will host Taylor Co. tonight at Rebel Arena.  Taylor comes into the game after losing to Warren Central 63-62 and supporting a 5-1 record.  The Rebs have a 3-1 record come into tonight's game after losing to Southwestern 84-79.  In that game, the Rebs had 10-point lead in the 4th quarter and could hold on.

If Taylor could play Warren Central to a 1 point game they are good.  Warren Central is extremely quick and has a great press.  Boyle will have their work cut out for themselves.  

Taylor only beat Wayne by 5 and Wayne barely beat Garrard.  Who knows this early in the season.  Boyle needs to stay out of foul trouble and handle full court pressure.  Driver is extremely hard to stop.  Most teams flop every possession and pray that the refs bail them out.  Everyone knows how much 12th region refs love to call a charge.

It's hard to judge much by Wayne right now. That Garrard game was the first game after losing their starting point guard in the first game of the season and starting a freshman pg in his place. They also played Montgomery to OT and Bell (@Bell) to OT this weekend.

Boyle-Taylor is a game I would like to see live. Stone for Taylor is a bucket and Driver is just a fun kid to watch. Seems to be a great kid to boot.

Final was Taylor County 61 Boyle 55. 24 and 2 were walking buckets for Taylor. Driver and Webb played well for Boyle.

I know Driver is a high level football recruit but if he focused on basketball he could be a high level recruit there as well.  He's much improved from last year.  

Taylor is a really good team.  They're well coached, shoot well, and are unselfish.  

Taylor County is very good! Extremely well coached, disciplined, tough defensively and can really shoot the ball. But Boyle had a legit chance in this one. Looking at these last two games, I think they just need to learn how to win. And that takes some time to establish.

I really like this Boyle team‘s ceiling. They’re better than I thought possible this early in the season. They play hard and move well off the ball. And while they don’t have the crazy athletic guards creating havoc like they did the past few years, their team defense looks better. 

Outside of DCA, I think they can be as good as anyone in the region. 

Boyle's perimeter defense is horrible. They can't guard, I think that will be there weakness this year.

I didn’t see it that way. I think it was very much lineup dependent. When they went man in Q3, with their best defensive lineup, they went on I believe a 10-0 run to take the lead. Created a few turnovers and made it very difficult for Taylor to get quality looks. There are some nuances they need to work on, such as not helping off good shooters. But that’s not a difficult fix.

I think once the coach figures out the best rotations vs different types of lineups, they will be a really good defensive team. Plus you have Driver’s presence in the lane and he alters just about everything.

Boyle would be really good if Hager wasn't hurt. Him, Driver, and Milburn would give them real size.

This can be said for several teams. Wayne is another level with Edwards running things and as good as Pulaski has been early would be a lot better with Anderson.

Agreed. I can’t remember a year in the 12th with that many impact players out due to injury.

Yes, and all can guard a wing and 2 of them can guard physical inside players as well. Good versatility.

Also, I’ve heard there’s a possibility that Hager makes it back by late season.
