I believe this comes down to the O& D lines. Who has the upper hand there? Everyone stay healthy the first 2 weeks?

The Clash at Cooper features two excellent teams in one of the top non-district games in NKY this year. Both teams come off easy wins but Ryle has been tested once this year in the season opener vs. C

  • This may be one of the best football games statewide all season. I really don’t know who to pick. Cooper is playing amazingly, which many expected and Ryle is off to a great start too and may be bette

Having seen Cooper live, I offer this opinion: 1) their offensive line is not as good as last season's offensive line. That said, O'Hara can certainly deliver the ball even on the run; 2) I think Cooper is vulnerable to between the tackles running.  I think they miss Lonaker.  I noticed a tendency of inside linebackers to pick a side rather than take on blockers.  I say those things with nothing but respect for Cooper, who has been a great opponent and classy team and fans for two seasons.

Ryle 29

Cooper 28

I'm surprised by the poll numbers (currently 33-24 Ryle).  Going to be a good one.

Me too, I thought it would be about even.

With that said when we have it available to us, the Pick 5 Contest choices are a better measure.

It won’t shock me if Cooper gets considerable more picks in the Pick 5 Contest but Ryle wins the poll. It’s a close matchup. I think Cooper is slightly better but Ryle has surprised people with their massive success out of the gate. Cooper has done what has been expected.

I don't know what Ryle did from a tactical standpoint last year to hold Cooper to a season low 10 points, but almost all of that defensive personnel is back, a year stronger and wiser.

How Cooper attacks that group offensively should be fun to watch. How much are they thinking about what went wrong last year? Or are they confident the supermen are going to show up and do supermen things?

Last year Cooper was inside the 5 yard line twice and only came up with 3 points. Honestly that Ryle lost last year is what helped Cooper go on their run. Cooper after that game completely opened up things on offense and got away from under center stuff they were still doing against Ryle and went more spread offense all year. So the style of offense Cooper used last year in that game, was not the same offense they started to use the rest of the season.

I think this will be a 28 to 24 type of game with Cooper winning a close one.

Cooper makes a statement.  28-7.

This will be a very similar score to last year’s game with Ryle on top for a 10th straight time. Ryle returns almost their entire defense and I don’t think Cooper’s OLine will be able to handle them. I also do not believe they will be able to stop Savage on the ground. Looking forward to watching this one.

I am leaning in this direction. I have doubts about the Ryle offense. A little crazy to say after their first two games and the points they put up but I think the Cooper defense will get it done. I'll go with 28-14 Cooper

Ryle got a nice pep talk yesterday from former head coach Bryson Warner.

Coach Warner stressed mental and physical toughness.

I thought it was a nice gesture by Coach Engler to give Coach Warner an opportunity to speak to the Raiders.

Packed house tonight
