I was thinking that too.  I would think there is a connection there with the headmaster being in Boyle Co. schools his whole career.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all.

From Facebook: Don Story Hey family and friends, I guess it is time that I speak on the situation at Danville Christian Academy.  Six years ago, I felt like God was leading me to DCA, an

Dennie Webb have a chance at this job?

If he has in enough years to retire from public school it might make sense for him.  He wouldn’t have to compete with football for his athlete’s undivided attention.

The timing of this move suggest they already have someone lined up IMO.

What about the timing makes you think that?

Jeff Jackson is a sleeper candidate from what someone told me.

It's a month after the season...If they were unhappy about the results they got, why not pull the plug right after the season.  Just my thoughts...Steve Adams may have been interested in that job, Ed Mckinney....

But if there are some back table discussions and an oppurtunity comes up to bring in a "better" coach, you make the move now.  This is all speculation on my part.

Would Jeff Jackson be interested in this position?  I think he can retire and if I am not mistaken he coached UHA back in the day, so he knows how the private school deal works.

I forgot about half the Boyle kids parents trying to run him off, so this would make sense. Once Hager quit, the Freshman a bunch of the kids and parents turned on him trying to get him fired. And I'm pretty sure Webb and Haddix don't see eye to eye.

I would call Boyle County assistant Coach Jimmy Clarkston. He's been an assistant for Dennie Webb and Steve Adams at Boyle and was also at West Jessamine with Damon Kelly. All 3 12th region champion coaches. He's young, involved with the youth and the kids love him. He's Right in your backyard!

Ryan Young has had one great year in his coaching career, now every opening in the 12th region his name is always brought up. Why is his name so hot? Because he upset DCA in the regional tournament? He's had 2 winning seasons in 7 yrs. Had arguably the best 2 players in the region last 2 years and couldn't win the All A. let's pump out brakes on him for every job opening in the 12th.

I think the reason his name has been mentioned so much this time is because all of the job openings are in the north. I think it is well known he doesn’t live in somerset, and makes that drive everyday. He’s from that area. His wife works in the area. So why wouldn’t his name get mentioned? He had competitive teams at Garrard, which is better than anyone else has done there. Just went to the region finals at Somerset, only second time since 1985. So yea, I’d be calling Ryan Young unless you have someone else more proven.

Any coach considering it would need to ask the question “Why did they get rid of Coach Story?”  He won 25 games.  Granted, he had a lot of talent with his first 4 players but he had a weak bench.  I questioned his strategies at times but he is a good man and always treated me with respect.  Regardless of what I, or anyone else, thinks about X’s and O’s, Don Story is the kind of man who needs to be coaching at a school like DCA.  DCA was lucky to have him and Coach Conley.

The explanation I received was that parents were upset about playing time.  If there are parents (school board members?) with that kind of clout the incoming coach needs to be aware of it. I coached at a school where one of my player’s father was on the school board.  That was a miserable experience.  Anyone coming in needs to know what was happening behind the scenes in order to make this job available in the first place.

4. No recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, player or booster are allowed. No comments about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact Kentucky High School Athletic Association | KHSAA – Student-athletes of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.

I know a coach in Wayne County that is currently not coaching.  His son was also just fired as Wayne's soccer coach after leading them to their first district championship in history and also from his job at the middle school.  Possible scenarios are swirling down at Wayne right now.

I think parents got upset with Story when he benched Inmon the girls coaches son and Imfeld when Fugate transferred from Garrard County and Geu Atney became eligible. Those 2 guys have been at DCA there whole life and 2 kids come and take there spot. I think it rubbed the DCA parents the wrong way. We all know Billy Inmon runs DCA. That's why this job is open.

I think you’re pretty close but I can think of a couple more parents who were probably in the mix.

Admin should keep the parents out of it. If Atney and Fugate are better they should’ve started. It shouldn’t be based off who’s went to school there longer. Sucks for Coach Story.
