We don't like the things you are saying about Dakota. You have not see him play much if you think he gets rattled. Dakota and Chad have lead their AAU team to five strait State Championships.

 

Dakota scoring against Drew, is like the kid your talking about starting next year scoring against Dakota. If he got to play 30 sec.:jump: :jump:

 

Champion, you know I love you, but I'm sure this kid whoever he is is trying as hard as he can, some kids make it to the limelight on the basketball floor, some kids make the limelight in other areas, very few kids will get to experience the limelight that Dakota will, lets just focus on that without putting this kid down, who like most other kids, will not quite achieve the heights that Dakota will. This kid may be the next guy running Marathon so cut him some slack :thumb:

The Royals are young and they will be bounce back. I dont know many freshmen that could have 14 rebounds and 12 points and consider it a bad game. Dakatoh keep working hard!!!

Although Rose Hill posters are disappointed with tonight, I would believe it is safe to say that they are confident about the next five years or so.

 

I did notice a lot less animosity between the adults of the two schools. Shoot, I was greeted after the game by people who haven't spoken to me in five years. I don't know if that is because Ashland won or if there is a bit of "thawing" taking place. Hopefully, it is the latter. The next couple of years could clarify it.

I have seen Dakotah play since he first came to Rose Hill. Champion is correct. He does not get rattled. Possibly, like OJ did at times, he tries to do too much. He tries to take the whole game onto his shoulders. That is determination and leadership and certainly not being rattled.

 

I would think his stock is rather high as is that of Chad and Alex.

SB, when and where is Dakota from? I understand his mother is the HS Girls coach, but what brought him to the area?

I believe, Dawgdays, that Dakotah first came to Rose Hill for the 2000-2001 school year although I could be mistaken. That would mean that he is in his seventh year at Rose Hill.

Mr Bob has stated on here since the beginning of the year that the Hill will likely be a threat starting next year. While I have always agreed with that, there is nothing wrong with getting excited about the promise of this young group.

 

Still a month left in the season and plenty of time to build up momentum going into March. We see it in all sports and you hear the phrase "learn how to win" and this fits the Royals right now. They are truly learning how to win at this level against some pretty good teams in this area.

 

There has been discussion on here about good Ashland will be in the next few years and judging by what I have seen in the 16th region the last few years, Ashland will always be around 14-14 every year. Some years will be 20-12, some years maybe a few more wins. There always seems to be enough talent to pick up some quality wins in the area and maybe a win here or there outside the 16th.

 

It actually has become a tradition for Ashland to start the season slow with a tough schedule and as the season goes on and they start playing in the region, the tough schedule helps them prepare for the tournament.

 

I'm not and never will be an Ashland fan, but I can respect them for year in and year out playing hard nosed basketball and usually being there at the end.

 

I just hope this rivalry between all three schools Boyd Co, Ashland and Rose Hill continues to grow and becomes very competitive. Goodness knows it makes for great conversation on here. : )

Euton has been playing at Rose Hill long before his mother became the head girls coach. dakota played for sure in the 4th grade and has ever since.

 

 

By the way, who did good in the JV game, if they won by 10 thry must have had a few kids shine? What was the final score of the JV game?

I respectfully disagree with your first paragraph but agree with your second paragraph. However, I still say, as I have said continually, Rose Hill is about a year away. They are very young and the win by their JV team is not without significance. Ninth-grader Quackenbush and seventh-grader Terry were very impressive. The Rose Hill seventh and eighth grade teams consistently beat Ashland's teams of the same grades. The future is enormously promising but it just isn't quite here yet.

When you say younger players dont you mean held back players.I know of 3 for sure and Im sure there is more.Dont get me wrong they are good players,but their not that much younger.And I would also have to say your JV Coach is very good, he is so good he could take Ashlands JV and beat RH JV by 20. Ashland is weak at that postion but maybe there will be a change there by next year. Nice job by the RH JV and a great job by their coach.
