From that comment, it looks like you were able to attend, JB. For my money, Wilcox is one of the most underrated players in the entire 16th Region. Great kid, tremendous work ethic, non-stop hustle, and a clutch shooter that can get on a roll.

I was at the game and it was a great win for the Tomcats. Rose Hill kept getting close in the 2nd half, but they just could not get over the hump. I told my wife when Rose Hill had the ball in the 3rd with Ashland leading 42-40 that the Royals need a score because before that they kept cutting the lead to 2 and then Ashland would go on a little run. But Rose Hill didn't score and the next thing they knew the Tomcats were leading 57-40.

 

That is where the Royals lack of experience showed. Ashland was the best team tonight, however, the young Royals have nothing to hang their heads about. They can still do well in the Region and, with a little luck and timing, wind up in Rupp.

Although some of Rose Hill's "more faithful" might disagree, I don't think the referee's had anything to do with the outcome. I'm not saying that there weren't a lot of questionable calls, but they went both ways and affected both teams equally.

 

Obviously the Jackson brothers, particularily Chad, needs to step up to the plate in their next game and establish their presence.

 

Even though I was hoping for a different outcome, I enjoyed the game and the atmosphere.

I figured GIAT would be back after this one!

I dont care what anyone says, Ashland's student section is one of the rowdiest i've seen around this area in a while, just a hostile environment. They've came up with a bunch of created cheers and I know the players feed off their chants. In fact McDavid even gave credit to the student section on the radio after the game.

I have a family member who has played years of ball with Dakota and he's always been easy to rattle and i think that had some effect(along with great defense by McDavid) on Euton's 6-23 shooting.

I figured GIAT would be back after this one!

Yeah I was noticing a few that must have been held up.

I would like to hear from Rickyp, that bright blue tie of his reminded me of the blue suitcoat fiasco that Jeff Hall's staff wore in their 1st Region title matchup with Ashland.

Please don't mistake hostility with school spirit and all athlete's love to play in an intense atmosphere. Everyone has off nights and maybe tonight was Dakota's night (bad timing) and I am for sure the student section did not effect the big man's game tonight as much as you want to think it did.

That must be one heck of a traffic jam in Ashland tonight. Anyone know if there was an accident or anything?

Very well officiated game IMO with the regions best in Alderman as well as Coldiron. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.

 

 

I will agree that it wasn't a bad called game but I will not agree that Coldiron is one of the Regions best.

 

Congratulations to Ashland. Maturity paid off in the end.
