I saw the Rose Hill-Central game at Fairdale, and I felt that Central had the better team ... the game was lost because some awful free throw shooting and some truly awful shot selection. Central lost to Russell by 16 in the 5/3 and lost to a Simon Kenton team that, I believe, was without Mike Hester.

 

Central hasn't won a game since losing to Rose Hill, in part because they lost a talented player or two in early January, just before the LIT.

 

Ballou is a very athletic team, but rather wild and undisciplined, at least by Kentucky standards ... much like Central. For what it's worth, Ballou went 1-4 against Kentucky teams in the KOB and at Paintsville. They killed Prestonsburg, and the four losses (to Rose Hill, Elizabethtown, Heath and North Hardin) were by a combined 15 points.

Ah, Frances, you again miss the point and demonstrate an understandable lack of knowledge of the rules of evidence. I do obviously have personal knowledge of what the local school official told me. Believe me, my friend, it isn't heresay. Would you have preferred that I put the man under oath before listening to him?

 

On the other hand, do you have any direct knowledge of what you continue to post or is it coming from your sources on Blazer Blvd? If the latter is the case, I would submit that that is evidence of gross heresay because it is both second hand and less than objective.

 

But, alas, why debate such mundane matters? The theme of discussion should be about Ashland's impressive win, the circumstances of the win, and what, if anything it means for the future "relationship" between two schools located far away from you up here in the 64th District.

I realize that I am probably quite a bit older than you, Wireman, but I have to say that I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

I don't understand why the number of fouls or free throws for that matter have to be equal for a game to be well officiated. I would not want an official to be concerned about the number of fouls on each team and keeping them even. You are just asking for questionable whistles if that is one of their goals. Out of curiousity, how many fouls, in your opinion did the young Mr. Jackson get away with?

No one said they had to be equal. However when such a large discrepancy exists in foul shots 25 - 4 ,I do believe some analysis of the situation is in order. I think why it is extremely questionable is that R.H. did not press, are not a real physical team, played zone most of the game, did not foul at the end in an attempt to get back in the game, and Ashland shot an extremely high # of 3 pointers. All of these USUALLY make you commit less fouls not more.

It is also peculiar that R.H. doesnt have these same problems when they venture out of the area.

 

You might not agree and thats OK. But any time you have an anomaly you evaluate it and conclude either it was a "red herring" or "Houston we have a problem"
