WKU 38 ODU 35 (OT)

Featured Replies

Western comes back from being down 28 to 0 to win in OT. Former South Warren QB and Bowling Green native Caden Veltcamp went 40/52, 383 yds, 5 TD and over 50 yards rushing, to lead the way.

ODU spit that one out. Have to give WKU props....they hung in there and got it done. Great second half!!

WKU starting QB as I understand it just decided not to play in the last few days, throwing Veltcamp into the starting job on very short notice.

Kid looked really young walking around the field post game. He threw it about 70 times I think.

The WKU receivers made some outstanding catches.

Veltcamp should've been starting this game from the beginning.  No idea what Helton was thinking other than playing favorites within the family.

Was definitely the craziest college game that I've seen this year and it's probably one of the best in WKU history considering that it was a bowl game and how they rallied from a 28-0 deficit.

Great game alot of KY kids making plays. Dixie grad Wimberley started at center.

I read that WKU coaches told Veltcamp that if he stayed at WKU he would be moved to TE. That’s why he is in the portal. Why Austin Reed didn’t play QB in this game is a mystery.
HC Tyson Helton probably played his nephew at QB since Veltcamp is in the portal. Unfortunately, Tucker Helton had a pick six and a fumble and coach was forced to make a change at QB. Big props to Veltcamp for rising to the occasion!
If I was in Veltcamp’s shoes I would move on to a team/coach who believes in me and has my back. Too much favoritism for family ties there.

Sometimes you just need the opportunity. Great story!

Former Glasgow WR Dalvin Smith had a great day. It was cool watching the South Warren to Glasgow connection have a big hand in leading the comeback.

Any word on Caden Veltcamp and what he is going to do?

He’s staying.

Also, his use of the Jordan “I’m back” message was top notch.

He also one the Scottie Award on SVP Sportscenter for the best performance in a bad beat. He was just on Sportscenter being interviewed by SVP. Pretty cool! He did an excellent job on the interview.
