Ludlow has the lowest RPI of any team remaining in Class 1A so a Ludlow victory would still mean a semifinal road trip. If the other favorites won, it would be at Campbellsville.

If I am Ludlow, I would rather go to Campbellsville than Raceland or Pikeville.

  • I think KCD is the favorite but Ludlow has been a different team since later in the season. I believe Ludlow can win and I’m pulling for them. Regardless of who wins, I think this will be a close game

  • Heart says Ludlow, head says KCD. To hell with it give me the panthers by a TD! 21-14.

  • No way this is a running clock. Ludlow is being overlooked and will do everything they can to shock KCD tonight! Rain and slick field plays in Ludlows favor too! I am saying Ludlow 28-24. We will see!

I am going to add a little "science" here:

KY Country Day    40.90
Sayre         34.94
Newport Cent. Catholic    30.01
Middlesboro    23.19
Ludlow         16.16

What exactly do these represent?

Are both teams healthy?

Ludlow is, not sure about KCD. Not missing any starters.

Hey Coors Light! ?

I think (@Tigerpride94) they represent KCD being at least 3tds better than Ludlow by comparing wins and losses.  Here is a little bit on it:

Formula uses average margin of victory/loss with a cap of 36 pts. I apply exception when teams' ratings are more than 40 pts difference to keep vastly superior teams from being hurt showing mercy with running clock and subbing and it keeps ratings more accurate.

Also from Calpreps.com:

Neutral field
[2023] Kentucky Country Day (Louisville, KY) 31 (87%), [2023] Ludlow (KY) 14 (13%)

Thank you.

Massey ratings say KCD 41-8.

I know but how storybook would it be for a team from a small river town come down to the Big City and go back upriver with a huge upset !!!!

When was last time Ludlow played for Regional Title?

I'm pulling for Ludlow.

But KCD runs the clock.

I would be shocked if this is a running clock. As I stated I honestly think Ludlow wins.

Does anyone know what the weather will be like down there tomorrow. If it rains, I think that would also favor Ludlow and their run game.

According to weather.com middle 50s with the rain stopping sometime between 6pm and 7pm.

Ludlow has been a surprise this season, I watched some of their game with Paris and I liked what I saw. This has the makings to be close, but on paper it shouldn’t be. I can’t wait to here some updates on this one.
