War in Israel

I would recommend to check out some more info as well.  "Syria is now the epicenter of Captagon production".  There is an enlightening article..."The Syrian Economy at War", written by COAR (center for operational analysis and research) that is available on line.

I will and I am starting to be of the opinion that the world is on fire.

  • Until Iran gets smacked in the face this thing is going to go on and on, and get bigger and bigger.

  • I hear you. Just like everything else law enforcement encounters you would have to train everyone up and provide them (or the Fire Department) with the tools to safely extricate any of these criminals

The ones with their arms in concrete barrels...lift them into a public maintenance truck, move them to a park somewhere and drop them off. Let them figure out how to get out of the barrels themselves.

I feel like the culture is shifting worldwide and not necessarily for the better.

I feel like we've heard that for years and years, perhaps it's always been true.  I definitely think it's changing for the worse.

When a huge number make it a religious war (which it has been even before Islam was created) it’s never going to end. It’s just going to keep rolling along like a steam roller. The massive migration from the Middle East countries into Europe to help rebuild Europe after WW2, has allowed for 3 generations of Muslims to spread across Europe. Sure they’re glad where they live now opposed to the hit desert, but their religion is what makes them tic and they don’t care for the other two Monotheistic religions ways of life.

3 US soldiers killed in Jordan by Iranian backed drone strike.

This right here is how this all goes sideways and America gets pulled deeper into all of the unrest in the Middle East.

Unfortunately it was only a matter of time given the frequency of attacks on American troops all around the Middle East.

Reserve Unit from Monticello just deployed last month to the ME. They are an Artillery Unit (HIMARS Rocket System), but it's been very tight lipped on if they went to Jordan, Syria, Iraq or elsewhere. One of my wife's co-workers deployed to ME last month also.

Right, we are preparing for some type of limited military action and the other side keeps pushing our buttons trying to get us involved.  Ugh..

Not sure who we are bombing but we are bombing targets in Iraq and Syria. Reports that its militia tied to Iran in both countries. With several days warning I'd expect key targets have been moved.

Right.  I tried to decide if this needed to be a new thread because it is America bombing two or more countries and it is a "response" to three American soldiers being killed by a drone attack and not necessarily a part of the War in Israel.  Ugh.

It could use it's own thread, however, I don't think any of this happens until everything that went down in October.  Iran has been patiently waiting.  They understand that there is a lot of instability and tension throughout several regions in the world.

For me, one of the scariest parts of everything happening in the world right now is its close proximity to Covid in 2020.  Typically when you look back at World Wars, Revolutions, Regional Wars involving multiple countries etc, there's often times a singular major historical event, or several meaningful events in the months and years leading up to those larger scale wars.  The entire world is still recovering from Covid, and its foot print will continue for probably another decade or more.  For as long as the world is recovering from Covid, it will be volatile and unstable.  And that's without any other major events taking place.  I would consider what happened in Israel a major historical event.

I unfortunately saw raw video on Twitter today of a US Airman setting himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy, to protest the war.

One of the most disturbing things that I've ever seen.

I saw the video, and couldn't help but think how exceptionally stupid the act was.

Agreed.

The reactions by people on X (twitter) were just dumb. So many people calling out the Israeli security forces for keeping a gun on the guy vs grabbing a fire extinguisher.  You can tell those folks never dealt with suicide bombers.
