Israel troop numbers in Gaza have dropped dramatically. It will be interesting to see their strategy moving forward to finish the job. The once planned offensive on Rafah is looking less likely. It will be interesting to see what they do instead.

I'm legitimately disgusted by the Anti-Isreal propaganda all over this country.  It takes a lot for me to raise an eye at stuff nowadays. This stuff is despicable.  It's shameful,  disgusting and just down right awful.  

I saw yesterday that Hamas was hijacking all of the aid trucks once they get to Gaza. They then either keep the supplies for themselves or SELL them to the citizens.

Hopefully the word of that spreads. I have heard previously that the number of people in Gaza who are done with Hamas is growing. They blame Hamas, rightfully so in many ways, for what has happened.

Possible huge news out of that part of the world today. Twitter is full of stuff about a helicopter crash in Iran.

Sure isn't a lot of information available yet, but that's to be expected with Iran. 

Israel killed a top Hamas leader (Ismail Haniyeh) in Tehran, Iran today.  Hours before killing Haniyeh, Israel said it had struck (killed) Fuad Shukr, a senior member of Hezbollah, a Lebanese militia that is also backed by Iran and has been fighting a low-level war with Israel since October.

It will be interesting to see. I wonder, if it does escalate to that, if they wait until after the Olympics are wrapped up and people are back in their respective countries. 

The fact that they placed a bomb in that house months ago and waited for either Haniyeh or another target of opportunity to arrive is kinda amazing. 

It's crazy to me that Israel can pull off something like this in a country as tightly controlled as Iran. 

It also has to have Iranians wondering how many more homes are rigged to blow up.

Reports that hundreds were injured and three killed when the pagers all went off simultaneously. 

The Exploding Pager operation is the ultimate long play.

For this to have worked,

1) Had to develop a pager that could be set off on command with a small explosive concealed inside, while remaining a fully functional pager.

2) Mass produce them.

3) Get them into the hands of their enemies in a very wide distribution.

I have so many questions, I hope there is a documentary on this at some point.

On some level this reminds me of the Stuxnet attack.  From Google.

Stuxnet is a computer worm that was originally aimed at Iran's nuclear facilities and has since mutated and spread to other industrial and energy-producing facilities. The original Stuxnet malware attack targeted the programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used to automate machine processes.

Not necessarily. Imagine someone coming along that's infiltrated/gained trust of someone within these organizations. They either A) find out how often the group switches out pagers and tries to do it then, by replacing the old ones with rigged ones. Or B) they come up with a reason, new technology, a signal that can't be cloned or tracked etc and then have them work the same as you'd expect, until they're ready for them to go boom.

 

Similar technology is utilized to track dirty money for terrorist organizations and cartels. Often times showing where the money is going, where it's coming from physically etc, without them having any idea that data is being tracked. Lots of neat tricks out there that even our US alphabet agencies use.

Why do you say not necessarily? Which of my 3 points wasn't correct?

They had to develop exploding pagers (that isn't a factory option I'm betting), build thousands of them and then get them in the hands of the "bad guys."

I'd think that from concept to explosion was at least a few years in planning and development.

Maybe Long Play was bad phrasing on my part.

I guess when you said mass produce I took it as Mass distribution as well, selling them to everyone and then hoping they get into the right people's hands. As old as pagers are, I'd bet this has been done in the past but not on this level.
