War in Israel

The Pentagon has confirmed it is sending a high-altitude anti-missile system operated by US troops to Israel.

As stated above, it is being widely reported that the US is sending around 100 troops to Israel to operate the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (Thaad). Hopefully this doesn't lead to more US Troops on the ground in Israel or any place else in the middle east. I'm very fearful that US Troops will be targeted by Hezbollah/Syria/Iran or other unfriendly groups in the area.

This feels like something that could escalate quickly for the US and I pray that it doesn't.

  • Until Iran gets smacked in the face this thing is going to go on and on, and get bigger and bigger.

  • I hear you. Just like everything else law enforcement encounters you would have to train everyone up and provide them (or the Fire Department) with the tools to safely extricate any of these criminals

The ones with their arms in concrete barrels...lift them into a public maintenance truck, move them to a park somewhere and drop them off. Let them figure out how to get out of the barrels themselves.

Yep, American soldiers on the ground and in the conflict.  And of course they will be targets, you have to take out the THAAD system if at all possible.

To me, this is a big escalation and I see it as Israel and America at War with Iran and their proxies.

I also assume "we" will strike Iran next.

Yeah, I see this as a precursor to an attack directly on Iran. Trying to get defense shored up.

Which brings me back to this post I made from this time last year, ugh:

Can't post a link, but recapping what I've read over.

Iran at some point started a secret service to root out Israeli spies and Mossad agents in Iran. The man they chose to find the Israeli agents and many of the men selected for his secretive team, were spies for or out right Mossad agents. ?

Israel is playing Chess and Iran is playing Checkers.

I want to have a good laugh here but not when anyone is dying.

Good job Israel, the whole world owes you.

It appears as if Israel has struck at least three targets in Tehran tonight. A missile factory, a Revolutionary Guard barracks and a third location.

Early reports are that Israeli F-35s carried out the attack...that may be a bit wrong though.

Houthis in Yeman attacked two US Navy Destroyers Monday. Anti-ship Cruise Missiles, Anti-ship Ballistic Missiles and One-way Exploding Dones were used in the attack. The Navy said all were defeated with no damage or injuries being sustained.

F-18 and F-35 Aircraft were seen launching from the Lincoln to, as the Pentagon reported "support operations against Iran-backed Houthis in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility."

Meanwhile next door in Syria as the country falls apart.

After several weeks of intense bombing campaigns by the US, the Houthis just announced they would no longer be attacking shipping passing near Yemen. The US, for now, is halting the bombing campaign against Houthi military targets.

Interesting 60 Minutes story tonight about the Exploding Pager operation and how it was carried out. One unknown piece of information was that the Walkie-talkies that blew up a day or two later had been sold to Hezbollah over a decade earlier. Israel waited 10 years to explode them a few days after the pagers.

Talk about playing the long game.

Just thinking about that seems odd in the "right now" world we live in today.

Reports of explosions across Iran, evidently as a result of Israeli attacks.

In related news, just heard yesterday that several family members in US Embassies in the ME, had been sent home this week.
