War in Israel

Right but without Nukes that ain't happening and since they don't have nukes they are stuck in a defensive position of trying to find a way out while at the same time saving face.

I agree with that too.  I was simply stating the Iranian mindset of what they want to do with nukes anyway and why they are so determined to have them.  They don't want to negotiate unless they see a pathway someday to accomplish that goal.  This is a thousand year old example of hatred with a basis in religion.

  • Until Iran gets smacked in the face this thing is going to go on and on, and get bigger and bigger.

  • I hear you. Just like everything else law enforcement encounters you would have to train everyone up and provide them (or the Fire Department) with the tools to safely extricate any of these criminals

The ones with their arms in concrete barrels...lift them into a public maintenance truck, move them to a park somewhere and drop them off. Let them figure out how to get out of the barrels themselves.

If that "earthquake" earlier today was actually an underground nuclear test, I think this will all escalate very quickly. It may be escalating as I type this.

Pizza Tracker shows huge uptick in Pizza places near Central DC. In the past that has been a harbinger of a long night for the folks in DC.

China ordered its citizens to leave Israel immediately.

So far the only acknowledged US activity, has been in a defensive position helping protect Israel from incoming missiles and drones.

Unless I'm wrong only the US Air Force's B-2 Sprit can deliver the GBU-57 "Bunker Buster."

All day the news seems to be focused on an Iranian underground nuclear facility that may only be struck by these types of bombs.

Sundown is at 7:32 today in Iran, it would be highly unlikely for the B-2 to fly a mission in daylight. It's a 30 hour round-trip flight for the B-2's, since the B-2's on Deigo Garcia were reported to have returned to Whiteman Air Base a few weeks ago.

Just some food for thought this afternoon.

Saber rattling, or real threat???

Hopefully saber rattling, when I hear things like that my mind goes to nukes.

I know there are people on both sides of this issue (American involvement in foreign wars) but we are already involved and if it takes America's B-2 Bombers and our Bunker Busters to take out the Iranian uranium enrichment program, I am a definite yes, do it.

Mine too.

Kinda quiet so far, a few air strikes one way and a couple of missiles fired the other way.

Lots of unconfirmed chatter on X that several B-2s left Whiteman Air Force base headed to Guam.

One report said that they took off "heavy" and had to immediately be refueled. The speculation is that they each carried two "Bunker Buster" bombs and could not take off with full fuel tanks.

That would likely be the path for dropping a bunker buster - Guam to Iran.

Read another report that said the bombers could move on to the island Diego Garcia, which is almost due south of Iran in the Indian Ocean. Diego Garcia has been used in the past for air strikes in the Middle East. It is about a 6 hour flight for a B2 from there to Iran.

There are reportedly two B2 bomber groups in route, with 3 B2's in each group for a total of 6 B2's in route.

The addional carrier group was to arrive this weekend as well. The Navy Growlers are thought to accompany the B2s to provide electronic warfare support with radar jamming and other electronic countermeasures to help facilitate safe passage in and out for the B2s. Of course I'm sure Navy F-35's would be nearby as well flying cover for the mission, if it were to go forward. Additionally Air Force F-22's that are deployed in the ME could also support an attack.

According to Fox News the US has launched an attack against Iran.
