Don't do it Coach Sphire, you will regret it.

Regret what? Being hated. He has found out it doesn't matter how nice he is, he now Coaches at Highlands and somewhere along the line a Coach was a player or an Official who also played had 70 laid on them from Dale Mueller at one time. There is no walking that back. Ever.

All great in theory. Not so much if you are up 42 to 0 and continue to play your starters for “conditioning reasons” and lose a key starter due to an injury a game that is already won.

  • Playing their starters for a half or less in the Dale Mueller Era was never an issue and didn't stop multiple state championships.  Shouldn't be an issue at all..

In my opinion, HHS best win is Lex Cath at this point. I know Lex Cath will most likely only end up at 6-4 or 5-5 but their losses have come against Boyle, Corbin, Highlands by 7 and LCA by 7. They al

Kvetching that "no one will schedule us." Priceless.

There are some things points can't buy. For everything else, there's @Male Dueller.

How many of those score were in the days of no running clock?

Based on what I saw tonight from the team that beat Boone County last week, Highlands could score 100 in the 1st half if they really wanted to.

Right, this is tricky for Highlands.

As a coach, you prepare like any other week. Keep your guys focused and on the task at hand. Run the rock. Every starter will be out of the game by halftime. Let your 2nd string guys get some time, move on to the next week.

I am thinking it could be starters out early in the 2nd quarter and the 3rd team plays the 4th quarter.

They also still have Scott Co. on their schedule. Lex Cath is #4 in RPI in 3A and will make a deep run in the playoffs.

They play Scott not Scott County.

I had to re read the original post but he is talking about LexCath still having Scott County to play.

Is this a Trap game for Highlands? I certainly hope not. Wouldn't be good.

This. Just ask Tua and coach Saban about this.

If Highlands showed up with zero starters, I'm confident that they could put a running clock on Boone. Trap game? No shot.

I think this is a "Trap Game" for Coach Sphire only.  The potential trap for him is how to get his starters a few meaningful reps and how to "slow down" his 2's and 3's so this doesn't end up in the 70s.  That is the trap I see. ?‍♀️

Not sure I have seen this in many places and if I have missed it I apologize. If the Birds win tonight it will be Coach Sphire's 300th win!
