Soaring Aces Welcome Porous Hendo Defense

Records: Hendo (1-3) | OCath (4-0)

BGP Rankings: OCath (#3 in 2A)

Week 4 Results: Hendo lost to Paducah Tilghman 27-42 | OCath beat Owensboro 33-28

Series History: No meetings as far back as 1998

Look to the skies: Brady Atwell is primed for a field day against the Colonels. Hendo possesses one of 6A's worst defenses, period, but are especially vulnerable through the air, ranking 28th out of 32 teams in 6A for pass defense. Atwell throws for nearly three hundred yards a game with 16 touchdown passes against a single pick. Henderson County allows 37 points per game. Owensboro Catholic scores 42 per contest. You see where this is headed. The signs point toward a big night for the Aces, offensively. The logical question is, can Hendo keep pace?

No, they can't. Without the benefit of playing in Henderson, this will be all O-Cath.

This will be a running clock. I’m not taking shots that’s just my opinion. Catholic wins, and faces a weak remainder of schedule… seems like the same old song playing on the radio. I hope I am proved wrong.

22 to 3 OC in the poll.

That is a very strong prediction. If they clock them then 2A REALLY needs to be put on notice.

CalPreps has it 38-22 Aces.  That seems about right to me.  I think OCath is likely 2-4 TDs better than Hendo on any given day.  That said, I think Owensboro (who OCath just played) is 2-3 TDs better than Hendo so it may be 4 TDs tonight, especially at the Aces field.

Coach Boston has a tough job to keep his troops pumped up with 3 straight defeats (against good teams).

I do think their district is weak, but that last game is not going to be a cake walk.

Why?

Because South Warren beat them by 24 (it was a 3 point game at one point in the 3rd quarter). South Warren is a very good team. Paducah beat them by 15. That’s why. If OCath clocks them then that should definitely turn some heads.

We shall see, then.

I think Ocath lays the wood.  They will double Paducah Tilghman margin over Hendo.

Aces 42-12

Paducah was without their superstar, one of the most highly recruited players in the state. Possibly the best skill position guy in the state. And also Mayfield gets them next week so it will be a game that is somewhat of a measuring stick. I do think OCath and Mayfield both beat Henderson worse than Paducah did but not having #4 is huge for Paducah.

Idk if OC clocks Henderson but I do believe it’s not close. Henderson isn’t ready for the Aces pass attack.
