Male at Highlands 8/4 Scrimmage Updates

Disappointing to see the WR group struggling. That room has a crazy amount of talent; hopefully, they get it together. Totally agree regarding the run game. This is the best OL I have seen HHS have since Dale was roaming the sidelines. HUGE guys that have clearly put in a lot of work in the weight room - refreshing to see. Merz is a stud. I would look for him to get a lot of interest from colleges in the near future.

There is no reason to be disappointed in the WR group and there was no struggle there. It was a scrimmage and scripted from play 1 to the final play with the goal of seeing seeing what new tools are in the arsenal and there are plenty.

He’s a GREAT kid, hard-working, coachable and will do anything to win. People need to let him be Tayden and not Jared’s son everywhere he goes.  The kid is going to succeed wherever he plays.

  • If the Ryle team I saw last night is better than Male then Male has their worst team in decades.

I got to say. Not starting Lorenzen at QB you are really sticking your neck out to look like a legendary fool 20 years from now.

This Highlands WR group is really good. I just didn’t see many WRs make big plays. Saw dudes quit on routes a couple times too.

Wow that is unreal!

You’re usually pretty solid on your takes in this area, so this isn’t being a jerk but just curiosity… why do you think this?

I know pops was phenomenal, but his son wasn’t the QB in MS either was he? I just know he wasn’t last year, maybe he has been before.

Could not play QB last year, but showed that he was a solid football player who understands the game, was coachable and an overall good kid.

When I saw him he played LB, and he played it crazy well.

Too much pressure and too big of a shadow for a 14 year old kid.

He played qb for the Red Devils and was hurling  tds for them.

First off, my takes are dimwitted at best. But thank you.

Second off I really just meant if I’m coaching the Highlands freshman team and Lorenzen’s son is on there and wants to play QB, I’m not going to be the bad guy in the movie they make 20 years later, you know.

That makes a lot of sense. As I said there is a lot of talent there so I anticipate a lot of production from that group.

Embarrassment of riches at WR this year. Class, Matteoli, Hinegardener, Surrey, McCarter. When it gets going fully it’s going to be really fun to watch.

Good to hear it was scripted, otherwise some of the play calling didn’t make any sense.

Correction. 13 years old. But totally agree that he will play anywhere to help the team Win. If this wasn't the case he would be at another School.
