I had heard rumblings about Mayer  before the Raiders placed him on the non-IR or whatever it was called. If those rumors were accurate, I would tend to think that Mayer being back in the Cincinnati/NKY area would be good for him. 

There's been talk in Philadelphia Eagles fandom that they are interested in Mayer to initially play alongside Goedert and then eventually, replace him. They have a history of having a pair of good tight ends on the roster, Celek-Ertz, Ertz-Goedert.

That could bode well for Philadelphia if Mayer can get right and get on the field. 

Michael Mayer gets 3 year $45 million extension.

ESPN just reported that CovCath grad Michael Mayer just received a 3 year $45 million extension of which $30 million is guaranteed. He will be starting for the Raiders tomorrow and will be counted on heavily with Brock Bowers out for multiple weeks. Fantastic!

Crazy game. One injury and Mike is set for life, as are his kids, and grand kids and probably great grand kids. Congrats.

I think he does.....but I mean, I could put up with a lot of things I don't necessarily like for a few years if I was getting paid $10 Million a year.
