Hearing it's almost a done deal. If so, Danville football will win 3 games next year and the basketball team will be down too. And the school is not Boyle County. We shall see! 

Are these two players so good they would add 3-4 wins next year? If I’m the coach I don’t want anyone that doesn’t want to be there.

It's just one player. He rushed for 2K this year as a Sophomore. He's the real deal and a huge loss for Danville is he leaves.

You mean a coaching search that was a debacle = good players leaving?  I'm absolutely SHOCKED at this development!

Any of these kids ever say…man I want to go to Mercer or Lincoln ? Nope they always want to go where they have basically unlimited resources or they find the lord. 

According to the twitter thread, his mother put it out there first because they know how good Mauri is. If there’s a sure fire way to get recognized and opportunity right across town, why wouldn’t you do it?

Regardless of who the Coach is, Danville has failed to bring the recognition and opportunities to the players like other programs do and if they want to keep their talent, they’re going to have to get over themselves and start adapting to the times.

If someone would've told me Danville football would be in the shape it is in right after they won the state title in 2017 I wouldn't have believed it.  Things trended down a bit after that year but that's when LCA and Somerset were arguably the best 2 teams in Class 2A several years running pre-COVID.  And I think they were on the cusp of turning the corner right when Clevenger got turfed.  Sage Dawson just won a state title at Boyle, Brown would've been there, and I think Kelvin Turner's son was coming up too.  Just makes me sad.

In other words, "dude's matter". In the end, it's all that matters (or 90%+ of the time). All the other stuff that gets flaunted, talked about, success(es) attributed towards is just 'feel good' fluff.

Loyalty to your school, program and teammates is a thing of the past.  It's all about scholarship offers and social media buzz.  The purity at the HS level reflects what's going on at the college level in the transfer portal era.
