Championship: Newport vs Cooper 3/7, at 7:00 pm

Will Pouncey be healthy enough to play? Can the Jags pull off another upset? Will Newports athleticism be too much to handle? Will Sullivan coach his team to the Sweet 16?

All I know is anything can happen come tournament time, and it should be a great game!

My prediction is Newport….

This should be a great game.  These two played a month ago and it was a 2 point game with Newport getting the W but certainly could have went either way.  Both teams are playing well but I am going to take the more experienced team in Cooper in this one as long as they play as tough of defense as they have played in both of their regional games so far which happens to be the best defense they've played all season.

I like the Jags in a close one.

 

The young cats get their 9th region dynasty started tonight with a win by 8.

Snapp's a heck of a coach and Newport is crazy talented. Give me Cooper solely because of their style and ability to get opponents to play at their tempo. 

I've liked this Newport Team since last year, a very gifted group of kids.  Just not sure their quite ready for what they're about to experience, I do hope so, but still doubtful.

I'll be rooting for the Wildcats, but I can see Cooper winning in a close one.

Excited to watch this game tonight! I believe it will be a battle to the very last second!

Both look strong, but who would play better at Rupp in the coming week?  Who is equipped more to go further in the state tournament?

That's a fair question, but I really have no idea how to answer it.LOL

If forced to provide an answer, I would say CCH.

Regardless who wins tonight and wish them both the best, I hope they represent the 9th Region well.  
 

I like seeing teams earlier in the season and throughout the season go out and play the best competition throughout the state as well as other states to become battled tested for the opportunity the winner of the 9th Region will have next week.

I got to thinking if Newport wins tonight they will have lost the All “A” Region and won the big one. I wonder if that has ever happened in the 9th before? I certainly can’t think of one.
