Survivor 44 premiers tonight!

This will be the first season of Survivor without my dad, who passed away in January. We always talked and more recently, always watched Survivor when we could together.  Not sure how I will feel about it tonight. Probably going to start it late, after the UK game.

Haven't had a chance to look through any of the contestants, so I don't know anything about anyone.

This season's cast seems like a typical season. Three people in their mid 40's but the vast majority are between 25 and 32, so just looking at them this cast seems a bit younger than most seasons. 

MJA24 so sorry for your loss. I, too, am facing this season without rehashing with my baby sister who passed last year   It’s another reminder of our closeness   
There is one word for the first episode: Paranoia!

Great premier with a great tribal! Looking forward to this season although I feel like something needs to change for season 45 because 41-44 have basically been the same so far and it’s starting to feel monotonous.

Good episode, and this was the most drama I've ever seen in a first tribal council. On the downside, there seems to be more annoying contestants this season. Hopefully they will grow on me as the season progresses.

I like the birdcage idol twist. There are some twists the players can make and more strategy.

I was telling Brandon through the TV - PLAY THE IDOL! Especially after two players used their shot in the dark, including his main trusted ally.

Next week will be interesting as they confront Lauren about her advantage and lying about it.

Sorry for your loss as well Jaysie. Dad has been watching since a few episodes into Season 1. If we didn't watch it together, we often discussed it over the years. This past two seasons, we watched probably 80% of the episodes together.

By far the most drama going on for a season opener. It was refreshing to have a lot of action and gameplan because the past couple openers and then the first 2-3 episodes are so filled with "background" on players, it wasn't as enjoyable for me. I thought this won was great.

I can't remember her name, but first impression, I really like the African American woman with dreads that is some type of adventure capitalist or something. I'll try and catch her name tonight.

I don't really have strong feelings one way or the other about any of the individual players. But yes, I think they are playing hard and its awesome.

Did Carolyn get the idols mixed up when she opened the birdcage?  It looked like she might have but without being there on the island with her I honestly don’t know.  It did look like she got them mixed up compared to the other two tribes and what they said were the real and fake idols.  
 

If she did get them mixed up then Sarah left with the real idol and Carolyn still has the fake one.  

Carolyn is a riot every time she is on screen. She is playing a lot smarter than they realize. She is just goofy enough and smart enough to not be seen as a threat and roll into the final 3.

Good move by Josh last night playing that idol.
