I believe Beechwood is opening the season against McNick this year. I heard that the over the weekend.

In an era when it was still acceptable to do so with grace and an underlying tone of care, there wasn't a man or coach that instilled more of a combination of fear and respect from every teenage boy he encountered.

I have a lot of respect for Bob Noll too and I am glad to see him still involved educating young minds.

I would like to see that game every year.

I have heard coaches from Mason County, Lloyd, Ludlow, CovCath, and multiple Ohio guys have applied.  I have also heard that some of those coaches deny they applied.

Someone let the Tiger out of the bag, my devices are blowing up, according to multiple sources the new head coach at Beechwood is Jay Volker.  From my Google research he was most recently the head football coach at Talawanda (OH) with stops at Elder (OH) (player), Thomas More (player), Georgia State University, LaSalle (OH), Moeller (OH), and Kings (OH).

I have been told (but who knows) the official announcement will come tomorrow so for now we wait...

Jay is younger brother of PJ Volker, who also played at Elder and then at Mount St. Joe. If I'm not mistaken, Jay played his last year or two at Thomas More while his brother PJ was an assistant there before PJ headed to Georgia State as an assistant coach and ended up bringing Jay on at Georgia State as well. PJ is the current defensive coordinator at Navy.

Thanks for posting all of that.  Coach Volker certainly has a lot of experience but I think he is deficient on any sustained success as a head coach.  Hopefully this ends up being a great hire. 

Baffled. This resume is very suspect considering on staff personnel were declined interviews based on lack of experience. Wow. Get the popcorn.
