As long as they keep winning recruiting season.......

Winning the recruiting season is paying zero dividends, I guess as long as the recruits move on to the NBA all is good with Ky basketball , really sad time here in the state.

  • Anecdotally, the fan base is shifting from anger to apathy. That’s the quickest way to lose a program. Cal is walking a dangerous rope.

Our view of him might have been biased because he played in our area.

  • Basically, I agree. I honestly think most the problem is Wheeler. It’s a cluttered mess with him running things.

The offense last evening consisted of a high post screen with Oscar for Wheeler, either Wheeler goes to the rim with a one handed fall away flip shot or Oscar ends up with the rock at the top of the key, holding the ball while others stand and the shot clock running out, now that’s an offense everyone should appreciate.

Pretty impressive that Wallace and Reeves shot 15 three pointers and Livingston scored as much as he did if this was all the offense consisted of.

Yeah, 53 points with that happening is impressive.

Many have forgotten this, but remember the day that Cal had like seven players drafted?  He said something along the lines of "the greatest day in Kentucky basketball history".

You'll have a hard time convincing me that he thinks otherwise.

And that was a great day, but what about OUR University of Kentucky accolades and wins and championships, is that just a forgotten entity?

If you rely on one-and-dones, you’d better know what you’re doing with the transfer portal.

Funny thing is, the transfer portal has made just about every player a potential one and done.

It's terrible to only score 53 points. But it's equally terrible to watch that game and think the offensive only consistented of high ball screens between Tshiebwe/Wheeler and nothing else was happening.

Wallace and Reeves missed a ton of wide open looks.

Someone mentioned Cal should have recruited shooters. Problem is those shooters, apparently can’t shoot against good teams. Reeves and Frederick are suppose to be shooters and both have shot really bad against the good teams. Fredrick couldn’t even stay on his feet the few minutes he played today.

People definitely have reason to be frustrated, and people are correct about Cal and his offense. His offensive system simply is a struggle, and nothing comes easy. I don’t think UK got a truly good shot at the basket in the last four minutes of the game.

I will say Cal seems to struggle more when he tries to use a lot of players. The only year him using a lot of players worked was 2015. Other than that he seems to struggle to figure out a rotation he likes when he has a lot of players. So makes it harder for players to really get settled into a role.

I believe Livingston finally showed some of his potential tonight. I think at this point you have to start allowing him to get a lot more minutes. I would like to see a lineup of Wallace, Reeves, Livingston, Toppin, and Oscar. Then go small at times and bring Wheeler and Fredricks in and go with Wheeler, Fredrick, Reeves, Livingston, and Oscar. Which Cal probably would have to adjust and to a little more Zone with that lineup.

Toppin has been horrible, time to give Livingston some minutes at the 4 spot

Listened to KSR’s postgame show, just about the maddest I’ve ever heard a call in show and I’ve been listening to the Cats since 1969.  People kept saying Cal is too stubborn to change anything, they’re wrong in my opinion, he is too ARROGANT to change anything!!

Agreed, that’s why I had that in the post.  Livingston should start at the 3, and then should also go with a small lineup at times in the game  and move him to the 4.

Call me crazy but at this point, I'm almost liking that lineup more with Keion Brooks instead of Toppin.

Eh not me. Toppin has been very inconsistent, but this is also his first year truly getting a chance to be one of the main guys. We saw Brooks have at least two years as a starter and just didn’t fit well here IMO. When Toppin has been bad, he has been bad. However, he also has had some really good stretches. I still think he is going to end up being a big part to this years team. Biggest thing is Cal needing to settle on a rotation, so players can truly get use to their roles.

Just saw this on Twitter and thought it would add to the Toppin convo.

Hard to hide from that.
