Bryan Stations 41 points were the most given up all year by BE and it took their best offensive showing all season to overcome that. If Males defense can hold BE to around 24 or less points like in their last meeting then I believe they'll win. The Station RB had 26 carries for 182 and 3 TD's, Swinny for Male could easily replicate those numbers. But on the defensive side, Male is gonna have to do a better job of stopping the run as both the Rb and Qb had big rushing games in that game earlier in the season. BE definitely inoressed me with their speed and size.

On a side note I would've loved to see BE and Station swap their regional championship opponents just to see if BE could've possibly blown out Trinity, just to see the kind of uproar that would've ensued in St. Matthews afterwards.?

I agree that 24 points probably won't get it done this time for the Chargers. And Swinney will be the best ball carrier BE has seen this year. There are definite similarities between he and Mundy-Lloyd, but Swinney appears to have an extra gear. The outcome of this game may hinge more on his performance than anyone else's, including Egan's. If Swinney is contained, it's on Cobler's shoulders again. They weren't broad enough last time.

This is a tough one to pick and I would like to see Bullitt East win because they are not a part of the Big 3, they are someone new, and they are a great story but I am taking Male.

I picked Bullitt East but given the history of big class football hard to pick against Male.

Male, Saint Xavier, and (mostly) Trinity have won 24 of the last 25 big school titles. Going back to the beginning of the four class era, it's 39 of 47 for the 'Big 3'. That's a lot of history working against Bullitt East here, so going with Male is the safe play, even though they lost the first meeting.

The disparity in coaching experience is something that hasn't been brought up. Wolfe knows how to prep his guys for a championship game. No one's done it more over the last five years. This is Kendrick's first rodeo as a head coach. Advantage Dawgs.

Kendrick may turn out to be one of the next great coaches in this state, but going in, you have to like Chris Wolfe and his people here.

I have tried to find video of Swinney that supports the very high regard people have of him. I have watched his hudl highlights. I see a very good back but the video doesn't live up to the hype for me. I expected to see more.

I'd agree with most of this take. He's not flashy, but the thing about him that opposing teams have to be ready for is his size. He's a big dude back there and can gradually tire out a defense. He also keeps that offense on track. I don't know if Male wins any of the gives they lost while he was out this season, but Male's offense struggled because lack of a running threat other than their QB scrambling around.

Big kid, not going to be the flashy RB, but delivers "body shots" to the defense that pays off late in the game.

I remember that boat accident that killed 5 people of his family. I didn't know he was on that boat. What a traumatizing experience.

I am very sorry to read about the boat accident. For this game, Sweeney is a load and will be tough to contain. BE's defense has improved a ton since their first meeting. Male is going to have to contain Travis Egan who has had a fantastic season in leading the Chargers to the Championship game. I understand about coaches, but the Players have to execute the game plan. What about the supporting casts? Male has other good players no doubt. BE has the three amigos who contribute to a high octane offensive game. Two very solid offensive linemen. On D, again they have improved immensely as they have progressed through the playoffs. Twice in the playoffs they have had to make a huge stop on 4th down inside the three yard line to help preserve a victory. Last week a huge interception was the turnaround point of the game. All of our opinions will not affect the outcome at all. Tough, confident players making big time plays on the field will be what it takes to come out on top of this game. History is pushed aside because WE BELIEVE!!!  Let's GO Chargers!!!  (Wait until you see the crowd on the BE side. 900 parent tickets were sold in 10:00. The community will be out in force, loud and super supportive of our kids.)

Perfect description. That is how he looks on the video I saw.

This game (all the games) can be purchased directly from Prepspin.  If you have the NFHS you will get the game (and they can be bought there too for less money) but the direct Prepspin broadcast is a much higher quality broadcast.  The NFHS Network is 4 minutes or more behind on average. PrepSpin is 30 seconds behind on average. That is encoding time. The PrepSpin broadcast is in 1080p at 60 frames per second. NFHS is 720p at 30fps.
