By the way, I am the person who posted SOS is even but edge to Southwestern due to better quality wins.

I’m confused by the number of people on this thread named “Bud”. Seems like a lot for so few participants. 

It’s hard to argue how impressive Scott Co.’s wins against their schedule were… which makes their 2nd half meltdown against Southwest that much more confusing.

Dude was INEFFECTIVE against us for a quarter and a half, and hurt himself on defense getting bombed on. He was on lock his whole time in the game. People get on here and rewrite history smh.

Both Bowling Green High School and Louisville Male, another high school located in Louisville, Kentucky, were seeking the same education objectives. In aftermath, both schools agreed to work in unison and have the same school colors, the “purples” mascot, and the “H” to symbolize their schools. Louisville Male would later go on to change their mascot, but Bowling Green High School remained the purples.^[1]

 

Male and Manual were playing each other in football before BGHS ever formed. 
 

If I’m not mistaken, Male is the oldest HS in KY being founded in 1856.

Now wait. You lost by 2 scores to Boyle County.  The Rebels got hammered by Frederick Douglass by 31 points.  But you think that Bowling Green would go undefeated playing Scott County's schedule, that included Frederick Douglass?  Makes perfect sense.

Does it make perfect sense if we beat Freddie D in 2 weeks? Then my point of going undefeated against Scott's schedule would be fact. I don't think you caught on to the subtle shot at our friends from Lexington there ?

This is the first time Southwestern has ever made the semi-finals in football, correct? Or at least since 1998?

Southwest is clearly a talented team, Scott Co. was an excellent team with quite the impressive resume, and Douglas is without a doubt the most physically talented team in the state… that said for the message board fans of those three schools, who since 2011 have combined to win one state title, to scoff at Bowling Green, a team that has won six state titles in that same time span, seems a little presumptuous. 
 

BG does not have the D1 stockpile Douglas has, does not have the unblemished record that Southwest has, nor do they have the strength of schedule Scott had… we will see if those intangibles win out against the Purples. 
 

I for one, like the Purples chances. 

I don’t mind friendly “competition” bantering back and forth with one another but too much, is well, too much. 
 

Southwestern is having perhaps their greatest season ever. This gives the players, sidelines and fans a huge dose of confidence - well deserved! 
 

BG has surprised many of how quickly they have risen to a very competitive team. They (like Southwestern) will be a tough out. 
 

To me, the X factor (besides the usual time of possession and who wins the turnover battle) is Purples QB, Deuce Bailey. He has thrown the ball all over the yard with more than 2,700 yards this season! Perhaps his best weapon is his legs. He’s a true D-1 talent and only a sophomore. If Bailey has an above average game, the game will be decided in the 4th quarter. 
 

Purples fans are excited to make the trip. We know that the Purples must bring their A game to pull this off. 
 

At beginning of season, I don’t think BG or Southwestern thought that their teams would be 4 quarters away from the turf.
