Ballard (11-2) is coming off a 43-7 win over Madison Central and will host Male (9-4) who is coming off a 23-10 win over Henderson County.

Ballard defeated Male 12-7 way back in August. 
 

This looks like another close game as both teams have strong defenses. Male didn't have WR Max Gainey in first matchup. Does Male find themselves In Lexington once again or does Ballard make their first championship appearance since 1984?

I'm pulling for Ballard to win it all. They've had an incredible season, one that was long overdue. I think this will be close, but higher scoring than the first meeting.

I'm for anybody but Male because that Male announcer lives rent free in my head. Lol.

I see this game very similar to the one earlier in the year; offensive struggle. Ballard has the speed on the back end to lock up the Male WRs. Ballard’s 4 guys in the secondary won the the state 4x100 last year. Heard that on @ChiefSmoke podcast! Male’s defense is fine, but there are definitely some chinks in the armor.

Would like to see Ballard win but I think that Male will squeak this one out. When is the last time a team beat Male twice in a season not named X or Trinity?

They also faced a lesser opponent. Madison Central just wasn't up to the challenge this year, going 4-4 down the stretch and getting blown out in each loss. Injuries played a part, but their potential never materialized.

I think Hendo got more out of its potential.

Lucas Cobler's development - or lack of - will play a part in the outcome here, one way or another. He's dangerous with his legs, but if he's made great strides in the passing department, and with Gainey in full swing, they'll pose a greater challenge for that vaunted Bruins defense.

Generally speaking, Male has probably come further since the first meeting when factoring in all of the new faces among their starters. It was just Week 2. Plus, they had to get by without Swinney and Gainey together for a few games. That'll make the younger guys grow up quickly.

Male 28-7. 

I'll take Male in a close one since they will have the best player on the field with Daniel Swinney. Plus add Max Gainey who wasn't available in their previous game.

The more this one marinates on me, the more comfortable I am picking Male. They doubled up Ballard in yards in the first game and the Bruins needed a blocked field goal for the winning score. Factor in Gainey's presence and what I expect to be an improved Cobler, and I think Male wins this by 10-14 points. Both teams are confident right now, so I'm not expecting a runaway for either side.
