I think he had a bad stretch with a lot of the QB run game stuff we did earlier this year, in particular the first half of the Highlands game. However, I generally like most things we do offensively. 

The two examples that I liked tonight, and that EE does really well, was the double moves (out and ups) that we had set up to the X receiver. Oliver Link had one for a big gain. The QB missed another one to Braylon Miller for a big gain.

Also, we had a receiver drop a dime that should have been 6 on a concept called Mills. I guarantee you EE told the QB to throw the post, either on the play call or in meetings this week, as a quarters killer. He knew we were getting that coverage based on formation and D&D and dialed up one that should have been an explosive for a TD.

I’m not disagreeing with you. But how many NKY teams in the last 20 years who had horrible offenses relied on their defense to win games? I know Beechwood had a couple (help with years please). I do t think it’s the case tonight but it happens. I’d love to see CC win next week and give NKY a regional matchup we can all get behind.

What were people expecting? Seems like there is disappointment in this. Great Crossing was 8-2. This was not going to be a running clock game.

I can say, personally, that I was disappointed in Cov Cath's performance in this game, for sure.

What I was expecting:

I was expecting Cov Cath not to have three open wide receivers with go-ahead touchdown receptions drop the football after it hits them squarely in the hands.

I was expecting Cov Cath's defense to not be drawn offsides on 3rd-and-long/4th-and-long situations.

I was expecting, 11 games into the season, that the Cov Cath special teams might manage not to have two holding or block-in-the-back penalties called on them on returns.

I was expecting Cov Cath's offense not to net negative yardage on two straight offensive possessions.

A lot fewer QB draws this time.  Minus the offsides on two fourth downs and the dropped long ball this would have been or close to 35-0 running clock in fourth.  Seemed like good adjustment after the first two GC drives by the CCH defense to get penetration and stop the run game.  When the QB ran it wasn’t  just up the middle and a nice change from the incessant draws up the gut.  If not for the injuries the game next week could be competitive but it’s going to take a perfect game and some innovative plays to hang I’m afraid.

Uh, no one really is. Great players make coaches look great. That team was what 8-2? They played Frederick Douglass and Scott County? A 2-3 game decided 21-0?? I guess this is where social media has led us.

Good win against a good team.

Seems like CCH has two personalities and you never know which one is going to show up. They need the one that played against Beechwood for next week!

The 8-2 record looks impressive until you start looking at their schedule and see they were running clocked against Scott Co and Frederick Douglas. And they don’t have 1 quality win among the 8 games they won. But they still are a relatively new program.
 

Last night’s execution by Covcath gets them a 28pt loss next week.

If FD is all people want to say CC could play well and get beat. But....FD seems to have a habit of stubbing their toe in the playoffs.
