The great thing about the playoffs is they have a way of quieting all the talk. 
 

There is little doubt that Douglas is the favorite in 5A… will they live up to that expectation? I think we’ll find out a lot in the second round.

I think it’s finally their year. The rest of 5A is down a bit and FD seems to be pretty good. If they don’t win it this year then someone needs to take a long look at the management of the program. 

It crazy to me that Highlands is 3. Does that mean if they get to the third round they’d have a home game I guess?

No this is just the BGP ranking the KHSAA RPI has Highlands at #6 the RPI will be redone after the first two rounds are completed and that will be what determines who has home games based on their RPI.

To clarify one item above, RPI itself does not change during the playoffs. RPI is based on regular season games only. After the first two rounds, the matchups for round 3 on each side of the state, east and west, will be based on the RPI of the 4 teams left on each side. The RPI used for that round 3 seeding is the current RPI numbers.

Tough to be in the East!  7 of the top 10 RPI teams are in districts 5-8.  Looks like BG has the easiest path to semi.  5A will have some really good early round games. Nov football ?

Haha, I don't think anyone thinks Douglass is not the favorite to win state. Its just like Charlie Brown kicking the football. I've been stung so many times thinking FD was far too talented to not win state and they have a big zero. I've seen this movie so many times. It will probably change this year.... I'm just cringing as Charlie Brown runs to kick the football. We will see if there is a Lucy hiding in the playoffs...

I definitely feel like the mood around Douglass is different this season. It feels like way more people are buying into this Broncos team.

I'd guess no one gets within 14 points of FD on their way to a state title. It's just that I've thought that before... It will be fun to see it play out.

State championship level matchups in 2nd round especially in East. ???
