Haha, hey, I get it. I definitely think Ryle has the ability to beat Cov Cath this week. Over the course of the season we've lost 5 starters and 3 major contributing players to injuries, and almost all of them play both ways. My point wasn't that Ryle doesn't have a chance to win this. I think Cov Cath is more than likely an underdog coming into the game, honestly.

My point is, Cov Cath varsity could be scrimmaging the Little Sisters of Charity 4th grade team, and I'd be opening up the thread expecting to see a certain poster talking about how, "I seen that 4th grade team play. They have an amazing place kick holder, so I'm picking the Little Sisters to win by 60."

SK scrimmaged CovCath beginning of the season everyone said it was a down year for them. I disagreed. They have plenty of talent to beat teams. SK was just the better team.

This is a Cov Cath versus Ryle thread. You realize that, right?

I think half of the Covcath team will be on the sidelines in street clothes wearing either a cast, boot, or a arm sling.  So knowing this, I will still pick CCH because Ryle does not impress me.

It's difficult to judge with a sample size of one game each.  Ryle by at least a score.

Played them tough but SK had a bunch fumbles.

I like Cov Cath in this one.  I think Roberts at QB will be just fine.  He's a tough kid and has been throwing the ball well when asked to the whole season and usually coming in without warm up or little to no mental preparation.   Moving Jones to tight end adds an extra dimension to the blocking scheme and a big target for QB Roberts.  In pre-season I had Ryle as the top team in NKY.  Not so much anymore as the season has played out quite differently.  The I saw Cov Cath play SK in a "scrimmage game card" dealt out multiple times during the season gets old just like pre-season polls do.  From what I hear Ryle has their fair share of injuries too.  No gimme for either team.  The Colonels will have to "Earn It."  Colonels by 7.

I'm with you. Trying to bring pre-season scrimmages into play much beyond the second or third week of a season is silly. Especially come week ten.

One day you will have a regular season game to hang your hat on....one day. You can even provide the stats.
