What fun would any thread or conversation be to bask in glory for weeks??? :lol: For every SEC / Big 10 fan discrediting the Big East, the same people discredit any accomplishment of the SEC / Big 10. People can change their spin on situations to make it appear more or less compelling of an argument. Bottom line, do not go screaming from the mountain tops the Big East is the best, but they took care of business during the bowl season.

January 7, 200719 yr The Big East's 5-0 record was against a less than stellar group of opponents. However, they couldn't control who they played in the Bowls. The fact is they took care of the teams they were paired off with and showed that the conference is on more than solid footing. After watching the UL, Rutgers, WVU Merry-Go-Round this season I will say this: The games between the conference heavyweights were the most entertaining (except for the Boise St/OU game) football games I watched all year. The league reminds me of the WAC in the 80's and 90's, a thrill a minute with a bunch of different playing styles that almost always produced a down to the wire finish. The difference is the Big East teams can play with any other conference in the country. The Big East has done very well considering most experts were saying that they would lose their automatic BCS slot soon after the other teams left--I don't think that going to happen, the ACC has a better shot of losing its slot at this point. For all the people saying that a lot of the Big East teams wouldn't be bowl eligible in the SEC consider this: its all relative. If you took out Ole Miss, Mississippi, and Vandy and replaced them with UL, Rutgers, and WVU it would be nearly impossible for ANY team to finish SEC play with less than two losses. On the other hand if you took the same teams and put them in Florida, LSU and Arkansas place (teams that finished where the Big East teams did) I don't think they have a bit of trouble finishing with near the same record. Congrats on a great season Big East fans.
January 7, 200719 yr Brilliant post compadre. It would be a brilliant post if he would put (some Kentucky fans and not just Kentucky fans). I seem to remember fans from both teams saying not to lump everyone into the same pot. My opinion of the Big East is that they did the job they were supposed to do and deserve all of the respect in the world. Anyone saying anything different is just jealous and has sour grapes.

January 8, 200719 yr I'll definately take UK over U of L next season now that the Cards will be learning a new system, most likely under the leadership of a new QB. I'll still cheer for the Cards in every other game, though.
