✓ Five time tournament champ Beechwood back to represent the 9th.

✓ Louisville Holy Cross has won B2B 6th Region '"All A" titles.

✓ Highlands Latin is making its first appearance out of the 7th Region. The Highlanders are in just their second season of play.

✓ Danville, a semifinalist in last year's KHSAA State Tournament is in from the 12th Region.

✓ Sayre defeated LCA today and will represent the 11th.

Bottom half of the bracket is loaded and I think the winner emerges from it. Beechwood and Danville look good from what I see playing out in the remaining Regionals this week. Sleeper pick - Sayre, Danville's Sectional/1st round opponent.

When you get in a 3 game in 3 day scenario, it is different. Pitching depth becomes the biggest deciding factor. What teams are going 4 or 5 pitchers deep with quality?

Was kind of thinking the same thing. I expect Danville to be the #1 favorite, with Beechwood behind them. Seeing Sayre beat LCA is enough to tell me they can play with anyone!

From the 9th Region All A Championship thread via @BrosefStalin. Tigers appear primed for success.

I got Beechwood winning it all. Danville might be in trouble against Sayre. Dont Sayre have a player committed to UK?

Hazard won the 14th and will play Jackson County from the 13th.

Beechwood travels to Nicholas County this Sunday at 3pm in the 9th vs 10th game.

Granted, while Beechwood is the deeper team, they will likely face re-classified Senior Dalton Davenport, who went 8-1 a year ago, with a 1.06 era, striking out 128 batters in 59 innings of work, on a team that went 24-7.  In Tuesday's 10th Region Championship game versus Brossart (a normally good contact team) he allowed no runs on three scattered singles, and struck out 16.  Nicholas County won that game 3-0, the result of a Dalton Davenport three run home-run in the home half of the first inning.

I'm quite interested in seeing how effective he will be vs Beechwood.

A one man gang on that one.  Did he have offers last year?  With those stats from a year before I would assume so.  I also assume he has some this year.

Danville advanced in the sectional over Sayre 14-3 yesterday for those keeping tabs on the brackets.

Beechwood 12 Nicholas County 2 (5 innings)

Tigers moving on to the quarterfinals at EKU, 3 pm next Saturday versus Walton Verona.

Mitchell Berger pitched a complete game for Beechwood and went 2-4 at the plate, HR and 4 RBI.

Cameron Boyd goes 3-3 with three HR's. Boyd is hitting close to .500 and I believe he now has 9 HR's on the season. The D1 programs need to open their eyes. This kid can flat out hit.
