Saint Peter's 70 Murray State 60 (NCAA Tournament 2nd Round)

Featured Replies

Well Saint Peters owns the state of Kentucky. At this point I’m rooting for them now.

They never trailed.  I fully expected them to lay an egg.  Kudos to them.

I am probably rooting for them too, even though I can't stand that little white guy with the awful hair and creeper mustache.

I wanted Murray to win but I’ll be honest - this makes Kentucky’s loss just a tiny bit easier to take. Not saying I’m fine with it but it seems clear these guys have just caught lightning in a bottle, for however long.

New Jersey owns KY.   LOL

Most of me hates this truth.  A smaller part of me loves the underdog and really enjoys it.

The UK loss looks better but who cares about that. UK had them beat and choked. St. Peters defense is impressive, they are a good passing team and very disciplined. However, they are done just like UK would have been after the next game if they had made it this far.

I know you were high on Purdue and didn’t like that matchup for UK. However, you don’t think Saint Peters can beat Texas, if Texas ends up knocking off Purdue?

Let's see if Texas beats Purdue. Anything can happen on a one game basis. Purdue's talent level is significantly better than both Texas and St. Peters, and better than UK. That and the interior size and depth of Purdue are why I thought Purdue is a terrible matchup for UK. But talent doesn't guarantee wins, it makes them more likely.

I know Purdue is really good offensively. However, I believe I saw they are not a good defensive team though and rank in the 100s in regards to defense. So I think Saint Peters speed on the offensive side possibly could give them similar issues that UK had guarding them. Especially if they are hitting outside shots again.

Saint Peters is such a scrappy team, that at this point with the confidence they have. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them continue to win.

Id feel better about their chances to advance if they played tomorrow instead of next weekend.

True!

This result sucks. I don’t accept any other sentiments but this.
